Totally enjoyed. Definitely looking forward to the next one in the series - hopefully it releases soon!

OMG, this book!

I loved Kate Meader's Hot in Chicago series and really liked her prequel novella for this one ([b:In Skates Trouble|34114099|In Skates Trouble (Chicago Rebels, #.5)|Kate Meader|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1486223714s/34114099.jpg|55142863]) and was looking forward to seeing what Remy and Harper's story would bring, but the story itself? Blew my expectations right out of the water!

I absolutely loved both Harper and Remy. Ms. Meader did a great job of showing their POVs and giving very realistic reasons why they shouldn't be together, all while proving that staying apart shouldn't even be an option. When it looks like they really won't be able to have a life together, when Harper takes Remy's words and says they're not enough? I swear, I stopped breathing, it was so hard to read. Even knowing there HAD to be an HEA in the end didn't make it any less devastating to get through...how would she ever manage to make things okay again?

Of course she did, and did so brilliantly, I'm happy to report. And now we have middle sister Isobel's book to look forward to next...can't wait!

All I’m going to say about this book is... if I don’t find my real life Remy then I’m going to fucking die. He’s perfect.

First of all, Remy DuPre? He gave me full on Remy Lebeau vibes you don't even know. All I could think was X men and I felt bad about that as it did take me out of the story at first. Come on, he's name is Remy and he's a Cajun from New Orleans, who could blame me? about 20% I was pretty solidly invested, though.

I wasn't Harper's biggest fan when I began reading. It wasn't that she was a driven woman who was focused on a single path, it was the fact she was focused and had blinders on. She was so closed off she was unwilling to rely on anyone else. Meader did an excellent job of explaining the independent streak Meader had going and Harper did grow on me but I still wanted her to reach her final realisations for sooner. It was a good kind of frustration, at least. And I had huge respect for what she did when she had been continually beaten down by a father who did not respect her brilliance and accept his own flaws.

As for Remy, everyone loves a passionate man, especially when he is a sexy hockey player who respects women and isn't afraid to talk about his feelings. And he's a musician as well? Don't mind me, I'm swooning in a corner.

The chemistry between Harper and Remy? Well, hot damn this book is on fire in that department. I loved them together, they were so good together and you could see sparks before they even had a proper conversation. I loved seeing them getting together and they were brilliant.

I also loved the family feels with the sisters together. I have high hopes for more family time with Harper, Violet and Isobel. Those girls will be hilarious together, I can see it now. Alos, the DuPre family feels were good, too. Got to love a big family and Remy was so adorable with his nieces.

Full review to come. This is an excellent hero in pursuit book. The hockey player hero woos the heroine by making her homemade cajun lunches. Holy shit, y'all.

This book was kind of a disappointment for me. I’d heard so many good things about this whole series and I loved the premise - three estranged sisters inheriting a professional hockey team. But this book really fell flat for me. I liked the heroine, Harper, I liked that she as a ball-busting, ambitious, CEO out to prove to herself and pretty much the entire world really, that a woman is just as capable of running a hockey team as a man. The whole “I am woman, here me roar” thing was appealing. I also understood her hesitancy to let Remy too close given her past, both with her father and with the last hockey player she dated. And I kind of liked Remy but there were too many little things in the book that bothered me and overall, I just felt...bored. I do hope the rest of the series is better - I’m already pretty excited for Isabel and I’m guessing the Russian.

Holy Hotness! Irresistible You was a fantastic start to Kate Meader’s new sports romance series about the Chicago Rebels hockey team. And let me tell ya…the heat & sparks our dynamic duo gave off was enough to melt the ice from underneath the team’s skates. Whew! *fans face*

‘Forget about falling in love. He was already flat on the ice.’

With every book I read by Kate Meader I become more and more enamored of her writing style. There’s just something with the way she mixes humor, genuine emotions and tons of steamy goodness that resonates with me. Irresistible You took all that and bumped it up a few more notches, making it a book I absolutely had to binge-read and found myself enjoying every single moment. Read More

The story of hockey team owner Harper and hockey star Remy. This was an ok read. I had a few issues with it. I didn’t quite believe in Harper. She just felt a bit weak to run a team. She talked the talk in her head but then she was always almost having panic attacks, unable to speak or about to cry.

Remy was a laid back, Cajan charmer who cooked amazing food. He also came out with some French sayings. Not sure they were quite believable. I often have a problem with implied foreigness. Like a Scottish guy must say ‘aye’. An English guy must call people ‘love’. It’s hard to pull off right. He was ok.

It was quite a hot read but the last hot scene was totally ruined by them having a normal type conversation whilst having sex. Way to kill the magic guys.

So yeah, ok but not memorable.
