Somehow this was too slow and too fast? The characters go from the “I hate everyone and everything” to the

“I hate everyone but I love you” with the speed of a fantasy novel of fated mates…

but without that sort of explanation or story to get us there. Once we were there, it was great. It centered around one short timeframe for most of the content, then jumped forward in a way that felt unnatural - but the middle was absolutely solid and lovely. 3 stars for the middle.

This was quite the rollercoaster. I loved the writing - I was gripped the whole time, even though the plot moved rather slow.

Some parts were predictable. Some parts were unrealistic. But I still loved the characters

and the clean, happy ending.

I listened to the audiobook version of this story and I did enjoy it.

I enjoyed that it was broken into 2 parts - the before and after. Having so much back story in the before made the after make sense. Some people might scoff at the fact that it was so long (15 hours) but if you’re going to tackle a big issue, you need to make sure the timelines are believable.

While I enjoyed the whole touch-her-and-die vibe that the MMC gave off, some aspects didn’t make sense to me. For example, when her stalker finally caught up with her in Chicago based on one photo, it made her whole “I changed my name and slipped away and no one noticed” back story seem ridiculous. Especially considering her 2 best friends didn’t change any of their info…

There’s a lot to this story and if you are triggered by rape and physical abuse, this is not the one for you, but I think the author handled the topic fairly well.

This one has it all!!! Our heroine? A powerhouse of brains, brawn, and depth—basically Wonder Woman in book form. And the hero? Your next book boyfriend: smart, sexy, possessive, and all about his leading lady. The plot? A deliciously layered mix of complexity and emotion, with trigger warnings worth heeding. But if you crave alpha males, fierce females, steamy scenes, and a well-earned happily ever after, look no further!

This was not marked accurately by calling itself a sports romance with very little “sports”, but it did deliver on the girl obsessed+possessive MMC. I know this didn’t work for everyone but I really enjoyed this romantic suspense that shed light on heavier topics.

The roller coaster of emotions I went through while reading this book, left me dizzy (in a good way). This was not just a normal dark romance, at some parts it left me completely shocked and confused as to who the villain was, and at other parts it was so lovely and had me in tears for their love. Just wow.

So it was a random audiobook I
started, and ended up pretty surprised how of a page turner it was. I loved the voice actor as well so it’s always a bonus. It was mysterious and tense, the chemistry of the characters was magnetic. It was dark and had some sensitive topics so check the trigger warnings. But I loved it, the end was a bit underwhelming tho
