I really wanted to love this. It had sweet, autumn vibes, candles, a spoopy murder-mystery, an archaeological excavation, and even a cozy coffee shop. All my favorite things! But it was just so boring. It was far too long for the amount of plot, and I'm afraid that the cozy descriptions were not charming enough to distract me from how much nothing was happening.

More interesting tidbits about candles. She made a clock candle, which I cannot quite figure out, but it sounds like fun. Of course, I enjoyed the Halloween activities.

This was such an enjoyable cozy murder mystery book! I really enjoyed the setting and the characters. I read this book as part of Once Upon A Book Club box and once again, I am glad I was introduced to a book I otherwise wouldn't have chosen to read. I think I'll read more about the Nantucket Candle Maker in the future. I'd like to see how things progress for the town's citizens.

I would have been happy with just the skeleton mystery, but I thought it was neat to have things escalate to present day. Made for a much bigger reveal. I got the book from Once Upon a BookClub Halloween box. Pros would put me at 3 stars. Love the hints at Stella and Andy, but not sure I want to continue with the series.
Typos aren't always super noticable but they were distracting with a couple continuity errors in the changing of Brenda's last name and Leigh seemingly being two places at once. But what dropped from 3 stars was the repetition of the phrase "the town's neediest." It just felt very strange and vague which rubbed me the wrong way. Most areas have specific shelters or programs to help those in need maybe it would have felt more real and sincere to highlight something similar in the book.

15 Minutes of Flame is the third Nantucket Candle Maker Mystery by Christin Brecher and it's most definitely my favorite. This book ran a duel murder mystery: one in the present day and one from the past that was currently being investigated, complete with archaeologists, historians, and many interested parties from within the island itself.

Stella found herself in the middle of another mystery that left me turning the page for more. I thoroughly enjoyed reading a story that focused on the history of the island, even within a fictional setting. Brecher wove a terrific tale set in a wonderful place I would love to visit in real life: Nantucket Island. Someday I'll get there.

In the meantime, I'm left wondering what's going to happen when a certain someone runs off to Iceland. And what about Andy? I truly hope a follow up book will be written. (Don't worry - it's not a cliffhanger, I promise!)

Thanks very much to NetGalley and Kensington Publishing for an ARC of this book. All opinions stated in this review are my own.

A festive setting, a skeleton, sets the tone for this latest mystery in the series. Written in a way that leaves the reader guessing but still engaged with warm well developed characters, this is a book you will not be able to put down.
