Gudetama is a lazy egg who gives advice. In this book, Gudetama gives people advice on how to be mindful. This includes how to treat others, how to stay organized, and how to live selflessly.

This was such a cute book. Gudetama is an adorable, lazy egg, who likes to sleep in his shell. Gudetama and his friend Nisetama help people with problems in their daily lives, such as balancing their workload or mending relationships with friends.

This was a fun book on life advice for kids and adults.

Thank you Oni Press for providing a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I love this little egg. He’s so lazy & apathetic. I’ve been obsessed with him ever since I visited Japan.

This cute little comic is about Gudetama (the egg) learning from Nisetama about being more mindful in our daily lives towards ourselves and others. I love that this comic is aware that mindfulness can take a lot of mental and sometimes physical energy. Sympathizing and empathizing with others can be really hard but important to help living selflessly. Gudetama is here to guide you become a better person….then he’s going to be taking a nap.

Thank you Netgalley & Oni Press for this ARC!

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC of Gudetama: Mindfulness for the Lazy!

This was the first Gudetama comic I have read, and I enjoyed it! I thought the artwork was cute, colourful and not too overpowering.
I enjoyed the messages learnt from this graphic novel, and especially liked the simple and easy to relate to examples.
A couple of my favourite parts include the ‘what is empathy?’ and ‘what is sympathy?’ section as well as the genius flow chart you can use to decide whether or not you should reply to a message. This flow chart instantly made me think of one of my students who sometimes receives messages on their social media and struggles with what to do. I will FOR SURE be showing her this flowchart, and am going to request a hard copy of this graphic novel for her use.

I will defiantly consider using this novel in a classroom setting as I think it would be really beneficial to my students.

This was absolutely adorable! I LOVE this art style and it was funny and cute and honestly more people should read this. Great tips for staying mindful, but more importantly, just being a nice person. Kindness is underrated.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with an eCopy in exchange for an honest review.

Gudetama: Mindfulness for the Lazy is an adorable collection of short comics featuring the beloved Sanrio character Gudetama and Nisetama as they help their friends understand and practice mindfulness.

This was a really cute, fun, simple, and pretty silly read. I liked that it discusses different ways to be mindful and that it focuses on concrete practices for daily life.

This is a great book to introduce young readers to mindfulness!

Thank you NetGalley and Oni Press for the opportunity to review this ARC. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced reader´s copy of this graphic novel in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I loved this graphic novel for young readers. I think it serves as a fun and colorful way to introduce social stories about how to interact with others, be a little less harsh on yourself, and practice mindfulness. I loved the art and simplified manner that the author broke down complex topics for younger readers. Definitely will purchase to use with some of the children I work with!

What better way to get introduced to mindfulness than having the concept explained by some lazy egg and a guy in a full-body suit :D
In this very colourful and entertaining graphic novel Gudetama and Nisetama share some key values about being a better person by being mindful about everyone around you. Most of the concepts weren’t new to me, nonetheless I loved the illustrations! The short episodes don’t really go in depth but they work perfectly for the book's purpose. I would recommend this to everyone who enjoys a short comic and isn’t yet familiar with the concept of mindfulness but looking for a place to start.

Thank you Netgalley for this ARC!

Gudetama encounters and observes many situations and learns about mindfulness and the benefits of being kind, friendly, and open rather than ignoring others around you. Focusing on self-care and the proper ways to do that are included--reminders not to do things while working (on breaks instead) to help your mental mindset. The drawings really help to convey the differences in those who are and aren't mindful which would not be able to be communicated as effectively in a purely text=based book.

(I received a free digital copy of this book through Netgalley!)

While nothing groundbreaking or very new in its ideas, Gudetama: mindfulness for the lazy does what many self-help books about the same topics can't do: explain things in a short, clear, and fun way.

It's such a short read, but still felt quite nice - mostly because of the incredible art! It's all very adorable and colorful; full-color comic style, with short "chapters" that are just different scenarios of Nisetama and Gudetama teaching others about how to be more present in the moment, how to be mindful, how to deal with stressful situations and things like that.

I wouldn't buy this book for myself, but I'd for sure gift it to some friends, especially those who like Gudetama!

Who wouldn't want to get mindful advices from a depressed egg?

Gudetama is (already) a classic Sanrio character and this was a short, funny illustrated guide for mindfulness. If you don't like self-help books, this was an easy chunk.
I quite liked the part about social media mindfulness and what to do, if a relative sends you all the time articles and videos you don't want to see. These are parts everyone should read.

Thanks Netgalley for a copy.
