A good start as the bus goes sideways.
Nick was crushing on Jacob even without knowing him from a distance. Standed in a hotel room they cant not help get to know each other..lol. Nick and Jacob are hot for each other and their relationship beigins. Scenes play out and Nick doesnt want to hide especially with Jacob. Lessons about thr hockey Jacob has no knowledge about. Trouble on the team and Nick was the focus of it all.
The book was a great one, although I didnt connect with them, I enjoyed reading it. Jacob was horrible the way he treats his best freind, Kayla. Nick's coming out journey isnt a good one and there's turbulent times. The book told with both POVs and a good ending.

Jacob 24 was on the bus traveling on snowy roads filled with hockey players. Jacob was studying for law and was almost finished hopeing to grab a job offer.
A bus out of control and Nick catches him safely. Nick was the captain of the mens team.

I liked some parts, but in general this did not live up to my expectations. The characters behave as if they are much younger than they are. The lack of understanding of how the world works just makes this seem unrealistic. Nobody with common sense was surprised when the parents show up, or when the journalist wrote an article about the guys. As someone who is not in the least interested in sports, even I know that hockey is played with a puck.
The characters were sweet, the overall storyline was fine. It's just that there are too many moments that do not make sense.

Great book
Great book. Nerd and Jocks. Love conquers over hate. You will fall in love with the young men of the hockey team.

OTT
Ok. This starts off ok, progresses fast and slow at the same time (if you can believe that) and then about the 50% mark the OTT comes out. Thinking back on it now I felt like I was reading two books. Just, what on earth.
Also, Kayla (Jacob’s Bff) is annoying af. Seriously.

I just didn’t care about the characters and the way it is written is clunky and emotionally detached

My first DNF in ages!!!! Got to 20% and I just couldn't anymore. Everything just seemed stupidly fast and completely unbelievable, even for fiction which I hate, and I don't even know what this writing style is

DNFing around 55% in.
It's a pity, because I REALLY liked the first 25%. I found the writing easy to get drawn into, and I enjoyed the meet cute and the hotel room sharing. Unfortunely it's followed by them immediately starting to date and I just got really bored really quickly. The writing that I enjoyed at the beginning also soon became a "and then and then and then" writing style, with a LOT of unnecessary detail in what food they were ordering at restaurants or making at home.
The main conflict of the story after they start dating becomes Nick, the hockey player, wanting to come out, and Jacob, the law student, telling Nick he definitely should not come out, and then we have every kind of cliché with coming out imaginable, including the "you can tell me about your secret I promise I won't tell anyone! And then immediately tells everyone" friend, and the "I'm going to get irrationally angry at you because you didn't tell me you're gay and obviously you coming out is ALL ABOUT ME" friend, which all felt VERY high school.
I decided to DNF once we got into the sex scene and, what started as a boys-will-be-boys joke about the names of their dicks becomes a very cringey sex scene in which Nick's dick is constantly being referred to as The Excalibur throughout the entire scene, and I just could not keep going.
(Also there's a formatting issue that really bothered me - chapter 1 starts by saying the date, 4 December, under the chapter, and then chapter 10 starts with 6 December (completely skipping 5 December, even though chapter 9 took place during 5 December). I kept reading until chapter 25 and not once did they ever mention the date again. Also the chapter illustration is of an eagle holding hockey sticks but the team Nick plays for are the Bulldogs?)

Nick and Jacob
This was such a heart warming college sports romance! The support both Nick and Jacob were shown when everything came out was beautiful and you can only wish for those supportive situations in real life. I adored this story!

Gah!! Had to eventually DNF on audible at chapter 40 even after speeding it up to x1.75.
Just the corniest, most boring, 2d characters, snooze fest I've read in a while.
Dull, dull and dull
