#TransRightsReadathon book 3! Religious trauma, trans rage, and teen romance await in this tender and gruesome horror novel. In a disturbing near-future, with the help of a band of young queer survivors, transboy Benji escapes the eco-Christo-fascist cult that raised him (and brought about the apocalypse), but not before being injected with a bioweapon that will transform him—but hey, if they make you into a monster, you might as well unleash yourself.

I found some of the world-building and the last hour or so confusing, and I expected more flashbacks/backstory, but I am so grateful this book exists and wish I’d had it as a teen myself.

This is now my favorite book. I love the characters, the fact that I felt like I knew these people in real life. Theo ripped my heart in two, Nick intrigued me beyond belief, and I felt Benji’s pain every step of the way. I felt punched in the gut, betrayed, stabbed in the back, and I resonated with so many emotions and thoughts. I totally recommend this to anyone during spooky season — if you can stomach it.

Required readying imo. I ate this shit up! I genuinely wish it was longer because I just wanted more of what the book was. My only critique is I wish there was a little more description on what the Graces were/looked like in the beginning. I hope to see a lot more from Andrew because he’s definitely now a must buy author for me
