i love robert! his books are so informative yet funny and written in a way that makes it really easy to understand for someone who is not biologically/medically inclined. this did ironically make me feel quite stressed for most of the book bc i realized i am indeed much too stressed of a person…but it ends on a very nice and hopeful note. i loved learning about non-human primates and rats and the ways everything on this planet basically deals with stress the same way. very interesting and informative!
Took notes throughout, felt it was a bit longer than necessary and in that repetitive. Definitely feels between medical-selfhelp and straight textbook. Missed the mark on the coping aspect personally.

Misleading premise. It’s a book about how stress will kill you and not a book about how to cope with stress. I found it upsetting. Pass.

I'd recommend reading Sapolsky's other, longer book, "Behave"
