POV switches were wayyyy too abrupt. Should have stuck with Devin and Puffy.

Overall good story, the writing was a little lackluster in parts and it felt some parts of the story seemed arbitrarily thrown in as filler. However, overall was good.

TW: talk/remembrance of sexual assault/violence

Wow, wow, holy shit WOW.

What if the tales you were told were true? What if dragons existed and Fae flew around on beautiful wings of shimmering rainbow? What if magic was real and what if…..well I don’t want to give too much away. Turkey a wonderfully written book and since I won the rest of the series I’ll be bingeing it as soon as I finish this sentence.

It was a real tossup whether to give 2 or 3 stars. It started off terribly, with childishly simple happenings and characters. I almost gave up. Still, I wanted to know more about the world. Sadly, not much changed in that respect. Three gods created the world, including creating five demigods. Conflict ensues yet the gods can only chain and hide the demigods for a few centuries. Meanwhile, people have forgotten the fae and other creatures the demigods created, sticking with the gods.

Then there's the other creatures. Very simple so far: big equals killers, small equals comic relief, and then there's the cartoonish villian Janus. He's even worse than the standard characters who are the main focus of the story.

Still it almost all comes together and his writing flows well. I finally decided to give it three stars, but I don't know if I want to read the next.

Fantastic worldbuilding. Great characters. A blast from start to finish!

This was such a fun read! It feels strange to use the word “fun” given some of the quite dark and gruesome content in the story. The interactions between the characters, their familiarity, banter and sometimes downright silliness and cutsie moments brought light to some of the darkness and really gave this book its “just one more chapter” quality.
I would classify this story as more character driven, only at the very end did we see the beginnings of the series spanning plot.
An underrated/ under-hyped fantasy, in my opinion, and I definitely recommend this to those who want something that reads very quickly and is extremely entertaining.
