I disagree with any one who says that it is exactly like Harry potter. J.k rowling is not the only one allowed to write about magic schools.
راستش از روزی که هالی و کاساندرا (از این به بعد نویسنده های مورد علاقه‌ام رو به اسم کوچیک صدا می‌زنم!) وارد دسته بندی نویسنده‌های محبوبم شدن، چشمم دنبال این مجموعه بود. برای خریدنش یه کوچولو شک داشتم چون احساس می‌کردم قرار نیست با شخصیت اولش که فقط دوازده سالشه ارتباط برقرار کنم. اما حقیقت یه بار دیگه، با پشت دست کوبید توی دهن ذهنم که قضاوت زود هنگام؟

بله، پس دل رو زدم به دریا و مامان کالوم هانت شدم. (این بچه یتیمه، خوشحالم که مامانش شدم +++)
داستان از این قراره که توی دنیای این کتاب، یه مدرسه‌ی جادوگری به اسم مجیستریوم وجود داره که بجای روی زمین بودن، توی اعماقش مخفی شده و هر سال تعداد کمی شاگرد رو پذیرش رو میکنه. با این حال کالوم هانت همیشه می دونست که باید توی آزمون ورودی این مدرسه شکست بخوره، چون پدرش اینطور می‌خواست و به گفته اون، جادوگرها آدم‌های بدی بودن.
ولی بر خلاف انتظار، پای کالوم (کالوم دچار نقصه و پاش لنگ می زنه، بله. دلیل از این بهتر برای اینکه به آینده ی این بچه امید ببندم؟ من اصلا یاد کز برکر نیفتادم) به این مدرسه باز می‌شه و کلی اتفاق هیجان انگیز در انتظارشه. توضیح بیشتر راجع به داستان، سبب اسپویل کردنشه. پس بریم سراغ نکات کلیدی این کتاب:
• از اونجایی که سن شخصیت‌ها کمه شاید در وهله‌ی اول، برای شما هم سخت باشه که باهاشون جور بشین (این مجموعه وایب هری پاتر رو میده.) اما بهتون قول میدم یکمی که بگذره، دیگه ارتباط برقرار کردن باهاشون سخت نیست.
• تا نیمه ی اول کتاب،داستان کند پیش میره. استادها تدریس جادوگری و مهار قدرت‌های شاگردهاشون رو شروع کردن و ما تقریبا با سیستم جادویی این دنیا که بر پایه عنصرها می‌چرخه آشنا می شیم. آب، آتش، خاک، هوا و آشوب. اما توی نیمه دوم، سوال‌های زیادی شکل می‌گیرن، سرعت پیشرفت داستان بالاتر میره و هیجان بیشتری داره.
• شخصیت پردازی: خب به نظرم همچنان جلد اول یه مجموعه برای صحبت روی این مورد، جلد مناسبی نیست. چون همه چیز از یه خط صاف شروع شده و خواننده رو با سر پرت میکنه توی گودال پلات توییستی که باید باشه تا برای ادامه دادن، انگیزه کافی رو داشته باشه. با این حال، من منتظرم تا رشد شخصیت‌ها رو توی جلدهای بعدی، واضح تر و همراه با جزییات بیشتر دنبال کنم.
• راجع به دو فصل آخرش باید بگم که واقعا منو شوکه کرد. شاید از نظر پیچیدگی در مقایسه با کتابهای فانتزی دیگه بگین که پلات توییست خفنی نداشت، اما یه لحظه به این فکر کنین: ویلن در دسترس، ویلنی که بشه طرفش رو گرفت. همین برای دوست داشتن آزمون آهن کافی نیست؟
در کل، از خوندنش لذت بردم. ترکیب قلم هالی و کاساندرا برام دلنشین بود و خب به شدت مشتاقم برای خوندن ادامه‌ی مجموعه. (این روزها احساس می‌کنم باید مجموعه‌هایی رو بخونم که شخصیت اولشون توی همین محدوده ی سنیه و بعد، شاهد بزرگ شدنش باشم. درست مثل هری و رون و هرماینی)

I loved this book. Shades of Harry Potter with three main protagonists, a great worldview and interesting magic, and a good premise for the future. I'm a little confused how the rest of the series will progress since a main plot point was "solved" right at the end, but I'm looking forward to finding out.

I will start this review by saying that I don't agree with the people that say that this book is like Harry Potter, or that this series kinda just copy the idea and throws in it just other characters. Yeah, there's a magic school, yeah, there's a special guy, BUT here the coppying stops. And let me explain why.
The whole magic system is different, the school and the rules are different, even the tests, the lessons, the background, everything. And I would like that when a new book or series appears the readers stop saying "oh, is like that" or "ah, is nothing original". How do you know? Just because cotains a few common elements? Then keeping that in mind I could say that all the dystopia series are the same, just one story, written by gazillion authors, with different characters and names. Is that right? I don't think so. So, stop labeling a book if you haven't read it, because is no right. And if you don't like it, then don't read it, who cares?
Ok, now that I said what was bothering me, let's go back to our story. To be really honest I enjoyed this book more than I was expecting. Because I knew that it was middlegrade. But it was so good, full of action and suspense and beautiful descriptions, and so many feelings and twists and turns. I think that everyone can read this, despite his age, because is a well written book, with a new approach on magic. It's not like Harry Potter and the whole system of the school is different, as I was saying. I didn't felt all those similarities that people where talking about and I was glad that the book doesn't center around just one character. No, we got to know more about Call and Tamara and Aaron, an their colleagues and the teachers.
I would keep saying again and again that you should read this book, because it's amazing, fun, gripping, full of action and suspense. There are happening so many things that I didn't felt that it was the first book. It wasn't like other first books when you get bored half way through, because informations and world building intertwine with action and challanges and so much stuff. I really recommend you reading this even if you read or not Harry Potter. And it doesn't matter that you like or not middlegrade because it doesn't feel like one, you could name it YA too. So, keep your eyes on this and when comes out buy it, and read it.
