The prose is pretty good and it's clear the author did a lot of research about Greek mythology, but this romance book is the kind that has a lot more smut than plot - which is fine, and I don't mind smut in books, and it seems to be the author's brand, but it took over the story too much for me and I had trouble connecting to the leads and seeing why they loved each other as a result. This is more of a me thing, though, and I'm sure there are people who will enjoy this. It just wasn't for me.

Interesting concept!

I stumbled upon this book and I have to say I really liked it! It was different and it had me from the start. I liked the give and take of Hades and Persephone. I liked the day Persephone wins from Hades...for a man like Hades to give up control is big but to continue to give that control is pure strength...loved the ending! Really liked this book!

Would have like the relationship to be built a little more. This felt too close to 50 Shades. I still liked it.

Interesting and sexy read but fell a little short in a few places for me. I’m really not all that surprised, based on the summary, that this book ended up focusing so strongly on the sexual aspect of Hades’ and Persephone’s relationship, but I still looked forward to and expected more world-building and storytelling, as the Greek mythology aspect of this book is what drew me. In the end I think I ended up being most disappointed by the reasoning/motive behind the whole conflict. Aphrodite used her one favor with Hades to get him to marry Persephone...because it was a matchmaking conspiracy between her and Hekate? And then the reason she specifically chose Persephone of all the immortals was because she was the only one freaky enough to accept how kinky Hades is in bed? Meh.

The prose and style are good and fit the story/mythology. Characters and story don’t feel adequately developed or believable.

I am a sucker for a greek myth retelling, and this one does not disappoint. This was the first book I ever read by Eris Adderly, and it set the tone for me. I've enjoyed everything I've read form her since, but this book holds a special place in my heart.

The myth of Persephone and Hades has always drawn me in. It was such nuance... is Hades a villian or something else? Does he free Persephone by taking her? Do I just want to see good in bad? LOL Whatever the case, I won't spoil this for you but this is not your classic greek myth, but if you enjoy darker erotic stories and mythology, you -will- enjoy this.
