I enjoyed this read, found it sweet and low angst. However there is mention of parental loss and anxiety so if these are triggers for you, it may change the way you read this book.
Harrison and Finns meet is cute with the chickens and and I like the fact that we get a happy for now ending without them needing to live together as they both have busy lives.
But this is a great book 1 in this multi author series and I'm excited to see which characters get stories next.

A very sweet, cute, and gentle love story. Harrison and Finn are wonderful characters and watching them fall in love was a treat.

Harrison is opening a bookstore with his Mom. Finn is a family farm owner. Their attraction is there, but each fears anything more than casual, though that becomes increasingly impossible.
Finn worries that no man will allow him to put the farm first, since his last boyfriend left for that reason. Harrison has a genetically higher risk for a heart attack, but is healthy, though he worries about how long that will last. Finn brings him out of his funk, and Harrison shows Finn he’s not going anywhere.
Nice first in a series, looking forward to Tanner’s story.

Book 1 in the Vinos and Veritas series. Harrison thinks he will die early because his father did. Finn is a busy farmer who doesn't have time for city boys relocating to his small town. This book was fine. I probably wouldn't read it again.

“His mouth pursed. I wanted to kiss it. Perversely, the more uptight he got, the more I wanted to unravel him.”
Featherbed is a sweet and spicy, age gap, opposites attract start to the Vino & Veritas series. Harrison and Finn could not be more different, but I love what they brought to one another. Their relationship started off based solely on attraction, but the friendship that is cultivated is sweet and silly and caring. You just can tell they truly care for one another, and I liked that a lot.
It’s a low angst, smiley, easy read. I struggled a little with the voice, the story is absolutely great, but the author told us a lot about the experienced feelings and deep emotional connection that I didn’t necessarily “feel” and experience as the reader. Regardless, it was a fun first step into the series and I would absolutely read something else from the author.
There's so many things to like in this book!
Not the cover tho, not my type.
On one hand, this book is about a bookshop, a reliable & handsome farm man who reads and builds bookshelves, chickens and ducks being respected as workers & cooed at and adored.
There's hot as hell spice, and the men, those beautiful men show us how to be vulnerable beautifully. Health issues are not easy to talk about, the concern never ends and the mind can play tricks, trying to be helpful. Especially if there's a family history.
Talking, just talking about it, helps, because the mindset two people have who've been through Similar experiences.
On the other hand, I adore the parts by kirt graves the most. He's ultimately my favorite because he just brings out the soul of the characters. I don't know if I like the book or like the kirt experience tbh.
Such a gem.
