Great premise, but too many robots for my taste.,

Great book for boys and girls in 5th through 7th grade. So much adventure and suspense! Each chapter ends with its own little cliffhanger and I couldn't put it down. Lots of good humor and cameos of other recognizable books!

This was utterly charming, and James Riley seems like a hoot! You can't help but smile as you read this novel, and is just a love letter to storytelling and story reading. =)

Don't waste your time reading the rest of the series it just gets worse.

Nothing but respect for kid-lit metafiction, especially the sort that builds an acceptance of plot holes in to its own defined world building.

This book was so much fun! Just the right combination of snarky humor and breath-taking adventure to keep readers enthralled. This very meta story is a book within a book within a book. Bethany is half-fictional -- her father is a fictional character who disappeared inside a book after her fourth birthday. From him, Bethany inherited the ability to jump into books and live through the story. She has been doing so against her mother's wishes, looking for her father ever since. When Owen catches her emerging from a book, he begs her to take him inside his favorite series. Once there though, he can't stop himself from interfering with the story. This starts out a chain reaction that threatens everything in both the fictional and real worlds. Highly recommended to grades 3-6. It would also make a really fun read aloud.

I work at a bookstore and one of my coworkers highly recommended these a while ago. I came across the first three as a set at Book Outlet, so I picked them up. As far as juvenile fiction goes, it was pretty good and I will definitely be recommending them to that mid to late elementary school age child. As an adult, I ended up just kind of annoyed. All the fictional characters were highly annoying. The "real" characters weren't that much better. But the story was fairly fun and I have the next two, so I'll probably, at least, read those.

I like most middle grade books, if they are TOO juvenile. This one DEFINITELY was. Perfect for REALLY really young readers though. I didn't mind the parts of the story with Bethany & Kiel, but the parts with Owen and Charm were sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo boring. End was dumb. Won't read more.

Story Thieves

I knew I wasn't going to be disappointed by this book, and I wasn't wrong. Dang this book was so amazing. The world build in this book is just so addmerivse.

The thought of just jumping into a book that you want to. I would love too have this power. The story is fast paste and moves along so well. I couldn't put the book down I need more and more.

I don't want to say much about this book. I believe you should just go in with out knowing alot. This is a 5 out 5 for me. I would love for my son too read this when he becomes of age.
