This is a really fun comic. Thirty-five years from now, the world has gone to shit. Terry McGinnis goes back in time to stop everything from happening, but he's five years too late and it's already begun. There are several stories being told at once and most of them are really great. The only one I'm not enjoying too much is the one about Grifter; it starts off interesting, but it gets pretty slow. Everything else is really good. And the art is all awesome as well.

Grossa storia caciarona con tanti personaggi di serie b della DC ambientata cinque anni nel futuro della continuity. Per ora ci sono più domande che risposte, ma si fa leggere e intrattiene più che bene.

Let me say this upfront, I don't care for big crossover events in comics. There are too many characters, many of whom I only have a passing knowledge of. For example, S.H.A.D.E. and the scary little girl working with CADMUS.

In Future's End, the plot barely moved because there were too many characters going in too many different directions and Terry was barely in it. Why does Batman Beyond take up most of the cover if he is only in it in passing?

Overall, this volume adds to the New 52's unimpressive run.

Late with the DC crossover events, but I think this one is fairly made. A recycling of tropes, so to speak, but there are gems like Ray Palmer, Frankenstein, and the not-so-good Terrific. And of course, the Bat family that cuts across space-time is here.

The challenge with long-spanning event books is that you have to capture the interest of the reader right at the onset and hold on to it until the end of the story. The starting point to find this book did the first part well but right before it reaches the halfway point of this first-of-three volume, you get the notion that they are trying to draw it out as long as they could, much like how a soap opera wants to delay the revelations na which were due a season ago. That said, the questions raised are enough to rope in fans of the characters of this universe although I'm afraid may not be enough to keep the casual fan.

So it turns out that I'm not a fan of the New 52...

I was very confused throughout this story. I think it's because I haven't been following most of the New 52, but I did like the inclusion of Princess Amethyst, who is one of my favorite characters. Maybe I'll reread it after learning more about this crazy universe.

There is so much going on. It reminds me of reading Civil War. Everyone is in this book and so many stories can be confusing, but I loved it. Since the hope is to go back in time and change everything the book can get brutal. In the first few pages almost every hero I have heard of dies. So many stories to tell makes it easy to get hooked. Can't wait to read the rest.

Disappointing. Feel quite indifferent about this.
