Enjoyed the first book, found the other two to be more boring and slow paced

This was too complex for my taste but the worldbuilding was awesome.

This had an awesome cast of characters and there weren't too many to remember who's who. But somehow even their deaths left me cold and didn't get me to feel. Somehow the writing style made it a bit hard to relate to them.

I loved the world and it was really intriguing! It was so fascinating to imagine life in this kind of world.

Plot was really good. I especially loved the beginning: it was so tense and I couldn't wait to find out what's going to happen to some of the characters. And then I was a bit disappointed when I noticed how I didn't have to wait long: the beginning was so fast, almost rushed. And then started the major - and dullest - part of the book.

This wasn't really a page-turner, and a bit hard to read. This isn't something you can read in small parts when you have only little time to read.

I loved dune and i loved even more dune messiah. Children of dune was a book i stopped and restarted many times.
After like a year and a half i’ve finally finished it.  I did like it less than the first two bec of its slow start and confusing paragraphs but the last 100 pages the plot and the events and reveals made me like it more and more

so i think Dune messiah > Dune > Children of dune

also
Alia’s death was so saddening just like paul’s second death i realized he might not be dead when they decided to fake leto’s death i thought with all those lives it’s obv something that could have happened to paul in some weird coincidence

Since this is for the trilogy I am keeping it 3. I really liked the 1st part - Dune and would recommend it, but not much Dune Messiah or Children of Dune. They are not bad but maybe because I read all three back to back that I didn't care much by the end of it. It went from dystopian, Sci-Fi, adventure to well something all over the place.
It follows the journey of Atreides family to this new desert planet which has something very valuable called 'spice' and how they eventually come to control it.
I won't say it has a lot of plot twists but you never really know where its all going and by the end I became weary of the journey.
