I'm on my phone currently so I can't leave my usual gif filled review but I will say, is that this book hurt my heart. I'll be reading the next one with kleenex surrounding me. Boo hoo.

Dean and Liv remain a very interesting couple. And I thought this book did a better job of diving into why Liv especially would be having adjustment issues with marriage. Very realistic for her to realize that she is so dependent on Dean. She has a degree but, like so many students out of school, she can't get a job in her field. So she cobbles together jobs. She has no credit etc. For some women this would be fine but I can see why this would chafe for her.

One thing I couldn't reconcile, for someone who had such an unsettled childhood where they'd move every few months, her reluctance for Dean to want to buy a house felt off. I would think she'd jump at the idea of the permanency of home ownership. But that is minor.

I liked their visit to Dean's family as dysfunctional as it was. It is nice to have more characters for them to bounce off of. Most of the book is just the two of them a lot. It feels a little stifling.

As much as I like this pair I don't know if I down for hanging out in their marital problems for three more books.

I throughly enjoyed the first book so it was a no brainer to read this. I am so impressed with how romantic but real Liv and Dean's marriage is. At first, I raised my eyebrows when I knew she was a student and him a teacher. There are enough cliche situations in fiction for this trope. But both of them felt so relatable. Liv with her trust issues and Dean's struggle to be perfect.

I liked that the author did not shy away from having the characters have difficult conversatios such as how do they work on their marriage after all the hurt they put each other through and are secrets really worth it? I felt that it provided a good balance to the many steamy scenes. I especially like the depth at which the author crafted their relationship to the point where as awesome and sexy the sex scenes were for them, it raised the problem of them using that to conpensate for other issues. Which I feel not all books would bother to go into. Mostly its all "sex! sex! mindblowing sex!". I admired them going for counselling I do not think all couples will be so brave to say "we have a problem we can't solve by ourselves, let's get help".

SpoilerThe other reason I feel so much for this book is the when Liv had the miscarriage. Oh gosh no one expected it and things were going so well. Damn even I felt heartbroken, I cannot imagine and then Dean being accused of impropriety just made me want to hug them because
they keep having such difficult times but that is life isn't it? I could not put this down. A good balance of romantic and realisitc. Aww I like the part where Liv gets insecure about how she will get bigger as she is pregnant and Dean does not care. They do have quite witty and adorable back and forths as well.

I liked learning more about Dean's past and his family, I did not get much of that from the first book. The flow of the story can be confusing at times because it goes from the present and flashback to the past. It does take abit if getting used to.

But I enjoyed this so much that I would love to read more of the series!

yes this guy keeps making the same stupid mistakes. yes i cant believe this damn author did that to her.. im so fucking pissed off about it right now. yes this book isnt perfect im not huge on this dropping tidbits of the past thing it keeps doing cos it's like walking into a half done convo it's just awarked sometimes.. but over all i really like this story

author notes ---
Spoiler you didnt hit hard enough during the miscarriage you kinda felt like the watcher instead of being on her emotional track. which was kinda distant.. if she was numb out at the end of that we should have felt a bit numb out.. instead it came across not as hard as it could of been i was mildly annoyed. i also think it wasnt a good idea..what does that make dead baby numb what 5? dude (yes i know that was tacky as hell but how many freakin bad baby things can you put in a fucking book author really really) ... first one was his own thing but what's up with dude man's spunk. also i just i dunno it didnt work. for me because it stop feeling as real for me

i gotta stop writing these damn reviews after workin then reading until i almost fall asleep oh well

I always think book 2 is hard to write but this sequel is excellent.
You will need book 3 after this as there are unresolved issues.

“Feel that?” he asked. “You’re the first woman who’s ever made my heart beat like that. You’re the first woman I’ve ever wanted to spend all my time with, the only one who could convince me to start a new life. You’re the first woman who’s ever made me genuinely happy. Who makes me glad to be alive, who makes me burn hotter than fire. You’re the first woman who’s ever made me afraid.”
I stared at him. “Afraid?”
“Afraid of how good this is. Afraid it won’t last.” He pushed a lock of hair off my forehead. “Scared to death of losing you.”

Quería abrazar a Dean... me dio mucha penita!

I gotta say while I did like this book, I got a little confused when there were flashbacks. I couldn't always tell if the story was in the now or years before if that makes sense. I am excited for the third to see what happens next with Liv and Dean though!
