Good concepts, felt like there was a lot of filler

It gives good information, just not very clearly actionable

I understood the basics of growth mindset vs. fixed mindset before I read this book, but the book gave me a much deeper understanding of both. I really like the way Dweck broke the theory down as it applies to different areas of life (business, parenting, etc.), and her practical examples and exercises were very helpful. I also discovered that I have more of a fixed mindset than I thought, so now I have some new tools to help me develop more of a growth mindset! Very much worth the read for anyone.

Good idea but the book is a waste of time.
Thank God I started with the audiobook at 1.5x the speed and gave up pretty much after 1hr out of 8.
Too much chit-chatting about the athletes of the world, and that's about it.

as far as I understand publishers are making the writers to do such books otherwise they won't publish,
so a lot of books end up what could've been a paragraph in hundreds of pages that goes around and around the subject which ultimately wastes one's life.

If I would've been immortal perhaps I would've been kinder.

I agree with everyone else that gave 1* review.

P.S. a book that is a living example of growth mindset and portrays the effort and sacrifice one makes in order to be the best is Shoe Dog - Phil Knight (founder of Nike)

This book has gotten tons of buzz the last few years. It's nothing new, but has some interesting points. There were some great quotes in it. "You can look back and say, 'I could have been...,' polishing your unused endowments like trophies. Or you can look back and say, 'I gave my all for the things I valued.' Think about what you want to look back and say. Then choose your mindset" (p. 44). Also - Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg: You have to work hardest for the things you love most. And when it's music you love, you're in the fight of your life. The focus on praising effort, practice, persistence, thoughtfulness, change, is an important one.
slow-paced

Super repetitive and somewhat boring.  Not many practical tips for the average, childless person.  Many examples of athletes and child-rearing.
