Gigi (Iris Scanlon's little sister from the first book of the Half Moon Hallow series) is now all grown up and ready to take on the world. Her sister, Iris and her sister's vampire husband, Cal, are not ready to let her go into the world unprotected but Gigi is fearless, knows how to kick ass thanks to Iris and Cal and she doesn't believe in starting slow. She's about to start her first job working for the vampires and she's also ready to experience the first of many things including romance with a sexy vampire who has a fetish for biting and inconvenient amnesia issues.

Another fun light-hearted book by Ms Harper! I Just love the Half Moon Hallow series as it has the perfect mix of light humour, romance, intrigue, the supernatural elements and the fact that I get to see small glimpses of how the previous couples are doing in their respective relationships is a bonus!

Second? chance romance, age difference, vampire turning, “nice guy” stalker, coming of age.

2.5 Don't really like under 21 angst any more and really don't like under 21 people declaring of course this love is forever and ever especially when the other is plus a couple hundred years.

3.5 stars.

Molly Harper is a really funny writer. I always pick up her books expecting a generally fun, laugh-out-loud, poignant story. With this third book in the Half-Moon Hollow series, I wasn't disappointed. I laughed, I got a bit tense at situations, and I wanted things to work out.

Gigi was a likable heroine. Since I read Iris's story ages ago, I don't remember much of what happened in that book, only that Gigi was a teenager then. Well, she's all grown up now...and a programmer! I thought that was seriously cool, making someone who loved computers and coding the protagonist. I haven't come across many stories that do this, so I found it refreshing. Plus, Gigi was generally smart and mature. What stupid mistakes she made, she eventually learned from them, which I always like.

Nik was her love interest. I liked him, but he's definitely not my favorite Molly Harper hero. I think that the romance between he and Gigi was okay, but it never totally grabbed me, which is where the book loses points. I mean, Nik was likable enough. He was witty, funny, and protective, but I think he needed more of a backstory to be sympathetic, and truly relatable. The relationship wasn't quite instal-love, but I never got fully invested in the "feelings" side of their romance.

Obviously, the side characters in the book were great. This was a given though, as we've followed all of their stories in previous books. What a hilarious, and awesome little family Molly Harper has built up! I always love coming back to this world. One of the new characters was Gigi's coworker, Marty. What a horrible "nice guy"! I was definitely wanting to see Gigi give Marty what he deserved!

As for the plot, I thought that it was interesting. I mean, I guessed a lot of what was going on, but Molly tricked me multiple times. I'd think someone was the villain, then she'd lay out a situation so that I'd be rethinking myself. But then, when we got the real answers behind what was causing Nik to attack Gigi and not remember, I was surprised. Plus, there were some hilarious things used to move the plot forward. I really liked it.

Overall, this was another good book in the Half-Moon Hollow world. I liked Gigi, and the plot and side characters were great. I think the romance could have used a bit more development when it came to Nik's character. But...I liked it overall. It was definitely funny, and pretty light. I recommend it if you're looking for a book that's not too heavy, and doesn't take itself too seriously.

When Gigi accepts a job working for the vampire council, her sister Iris is none too happy. But the job pays well and has a killer benefits package. Unfortunately it appears there really is a killer benefits package. Somebody is out to get her and she has to look to her coworkers to find the culprit.

Nik is a very old vampire from Europe who is in Half Moon Hollow to do a job. Though he can't quite remember what the job is. Still it has something to do with Gigi so he makes sure he keeps bumping into her. Can he protect her from the vampire who is hunting her? Can they hunt down the person who paid for the vampire to hunt her, break a curse and live happily ever after? Well...yeah, I mean you know that when you buy the book, but getting there is still great fun.

I have a lot of love for these books. They're just such great fun. Clever, snarky banter, a lot of laugh out loud moments and despite the fact that they're nothing new, they somehow still feel fresh after ten books. If you want some light-hearted fun, this is about as good as it gets.

This was quite fun. Nik and Gigi are pretty good together though I probably liked them better in her sister's book. They seemed to have more chemistry in that book. Since they sneak around in this book, it almost makes the relationship pale in comparison. Still they are pretty good together.

So the fun makes it a worthwhile read and is the whole point here. The story is somewhat hampered by the turn of character for me of Ophelia.
Spoiler My biggest problem was that Ophelia puts a hit out, yet there is almost no repercussions. I liked her character in a love/hate way but feel this was over the top for her. Usually she seemed about fairness. This was anything but.
And then again, you can see the evil person painted way ahead of time. You know they are getting lax right when you are expecting something. Still getting the job and dealing with the ins and outs with all the other characters of the hollow, kept the story going. Then the end was not my favorite.
Spoiler That Gigi is attacked again and no one, not Jane or any of the others saw it coming... also that she had to be turned in order to survive. I hoped she would not come to that ploy again... but nope, it happens again
. I might have give it 4 1/2 and bumped it up, just for the wit of the humor alone, if it didn't have the attack and the ending that it did.

My review and an extended sample of the audiobook are posted at Hotlistens.com.

I love my trips to Half-Moon Hollow. While I’m still behind on Jane Jameson series, which is set in the same town with the tons of character overlap, I’ve stayed up-to-date on this series and the Naked Werewolf series. This book focuses on Gigi, Iris’s little sister from the first book in this series. I loved Gigi. She is quite the computer geek, which speaks to the geek in me. Our hero is a vamp that works for the council. He has some pretty cool powers that the council finds handy, he can see who has handled objects.

The pop culture references are always a big hit in Half-Moon Hollow series, or any Molly Harper series for that matter. I love the characters who are all a lot of fun.

Narration
I love Amanda Ronconi’s narration of all of Molly Harper’s books. She has a great way of bringing out the snark in some great characters. She also does well with some different accents and the male and female voices. I’ve listened to her do this and the Naked Werewolf series. I still need to get back to Jane Jameson series, which is on my TBL list for this year.

In The Dangers of Dating a Rebound Vampire, we see more of Gigi. She seems to have matured and grown more. She has set her mind to where she wants to be headed. Gigi has gotten over her boyfriend and is ready to start fresh with her internship. Even if it is under Ophelia Lambert. Gigi is determined to make her life work. Unfortunately the universe has other plans. Iris always made a big deal over Gigi being with vampires, but now it seems Gigi works for the Council. Then to make it worse, there is this vampire that has been following her for ages while she was at school. Gigi finally gets the story out of Cal. Now that Gigi has met this strange vampire, and the lights spark, Cal may be questioning his sanity.

Gigi is coming into her own, and as much as Cal and Iris don't like it, Gigi is going to go do what she wants. Even if it is with a vampire who takes some weird episodes. The last thing Iris wanted was for Gigi to fall for a vampire, but she can't protect Gigi from everything.

There is quite a bit of mystery and for the longest time I couldn't pull them all together. You kind of feel like they are unrelated until the crap hits the fan and everyone's secrets are revealed. We are left with an awesome ending that opens some doors for the books to come. I'm so excited to see how a certain vampire continues her life from here.

The Dangers of Dating a Rebound Vampire was what I expected from Molly Harper. She manages to include romance and mysteries together with a ton of snark and fun. You can't help but settle in and spend a cozy afternoon wrapped in this story. The laughs and the tension will leave you dying for more of Half-Moon Hollow. I loved Gigi's story, even though I didn't find Nick as interesting or attractive as some of Harper's previous love interests. I read this one via audiobook, and once again Amanda Ronconi did an excellent job of bringing the story to life.
