Please note; my star rating on any book is completely subjective and limited to the label for each star.

1 Star I didn’t like it
2 Stars It was okay
3 Stars I liked it
4 Stars I really liked it
5 Stars It was amazing!

If I do actually have something to say about a book other than what my enjoyment factor was, I will write a review and share my thoughts. If I say I didn’t like a book but there wasn’t anything about it that I thought needed to be shared, then that’s it, I just didn’t like it.

If you’d like to start a discussion about a book or you’d like an actual review, ask any question you like and I’ll be happy to try and comply/respond.

Additional note; I do not feed the trolls. If you don’t have something constructive to say, or if you can’t say it in a respectful way, you won’t get a response from me. Ever.

I adore Molly Harper! And a good vampire novel!

I’ve been reading a ton of her books and haven’t read any of this series, but I am definitely going to look into the first books of the series.

But you can read this as a stand alone.

Gigi was so funny. And Nik was so adorable. I loved their natural chemistry and easy relationship.

Part of what makes me want to read the other books in this series are all the hilarious side characters. I need to know more about Cal and Iris.

But if you love a goofy supernatural rom com with some pretty good spice—you must check this one out!

Series: Half-Moon Hollow #3
Rating: 3 stars - I liked it

Gigi Scanlon is all grown up and starting her new job working for the vampire council. A new job isn’t all Gigi has to deal with though, the mysterious vampire that kissed her at Christmas is back, but now he wants to hurt her, sometimes.

Gigi’s story technically started in the novella [b:I'm Dreaming of an Undead Christmas|19166108|I'm Dreaming of an Undead Christmas (Half-Moon Hollow, #2.7)|Molly Harper|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1386114520l/19166108._SX50_.jpg|27206862], which also gave us the first glimpse of Nik. Gigi is the youngest heroine in this series so far and she brought a lighthearted tone that I really enjoyed, especially with all the pop culture references. She also made some questionable decisions that would make sense for someone as young as her. I liked Gigi because she was extremely smart, dedicated, and a natural leader. While this is her first job, she handles work situations like a pro.

Nik was an interesting and surprisingly fun hero. He was surprisingly lighthearted most of the time, even while under all the stress of the curse. I liked him even though he was a lot older than Gigi. The mystery of his curse was an interesting and fun journey. I wasn’t expecting the culprit at first but by the time they were revealed I had figured it out mostly. I was glad to see Ophelia finally be put in her place though because she really needed to be knocked off her high horse.

Overall this was another fun and hilarious adventure for Half-Moon Hollows. I can’t wait to see what will happen in the next book, especially with Amanda Ronconi doing a wonderful job narrating all the different characters in this series.

I didn’t think this was as good as the others in the Half Moon Vampire series. It still had some amusing bits and I enjoyed the glimpses of the undead crew from previous books – particularly Jane & Dick. But that was not enough to lift it above mediocrity because I didn’t give two hoots about Nick & Gigi. They were boring. I didn’t care about the stupid insta-love, I didn’t care about the forbidden romance and I didn’t care about the curse.

This series is a ‘comforting go-to’ for me. A few chuckles along with a little mystery and HEA. Steamy scale 2 of 5 (Audible)

3.5 stars rounded down.

The romance was better constructed, but part of the build up happened in a previous short story and that's cheating. The mystery wasn't too bad, but I had a hard time connecting with the characters and their motivations, especially Jaime and Ophelia whose twisted romance is a serious element of this novel. Maybe if I'd read the Jane Jameson books first?

Not a fan of how the story came to a close. I am a fan of Harper's work overall, though.

This series just keeps getting funnier. The Geek Culture references are always delightful - and I was loving all the computer and design talk in this one - but I was more than thrilled with the Dune reference. (Referring to Georgie) “And as creepy as it was to speak to the living embodiment of that supersentient little girl from Dune, ..." Sigh. I so want to be part of this gang of friends in real life. I can't believe I have to wait 4 months for the next book.
