3.84 AVERAGE

I called the ending (all of it) early on and it was very predictable. This is my least favorite Kinsella book. It was a cute story but definitely not my favorite.

I have a lot of things to say so lets begin:
I started I've Got Your Number this time last year on audiobook, finished part 1 and never continued. Why, you ask?

Because I'm a miserable shit, that's why.

The thing with contemporaries is that they never do anything for me. Everyone would be like "Oh! I loved this book soooooo much I flew through it like THIS, and it was soo cute!!!" And I'm like "It didn't keep my interest because 1.people weren't dying (as previously stated: miserable shit) 2.there was no magic, no weapons and no mystical creatures whatsoever 3.it is literally the same thing over and over.

Damn, I'm a hater

But this book.. THIS BOOK PEOPLE.
Is there a fandom for this, because I'm all up for that.

Perhaps it was 2 things in IGYN that made it the cant-put-down-must-continue-reading kind of book, uniqueness and it's genuine humor.
Poppy is a real character going through some really interesting developments in her life including: weddings, stolen phones, crappy hotel services and company conspiracies. Yes, you've read that.

Enjoyed the writing thoroughly, particularly the pacing. There was 50 pages left of the book and I was a bundle of nerves and anxiety. Not that that's good but you know, in some ways, it is..?

The romance between the two characters was so fresh it wasn't a typical relationship but it was between sort of different people living their lives in very different rules. But still, I felt something when they talked, and loved the banter and little fights they had. Sophie Kinsella is a genius, man.

Lastly, despite the huge age difference between me and the characters I had never once felt disconnected to Poppy, I understood her to some extent. And really liked her, for who she was.

Footnote: Sam is everything
Footnote #2: Have to read more Sophie Kinsella books
Footnote #3: this's my 100th book of the year! ISNT THAT COOL?!

This book is for you if you enjoy nonsensical romance. Who loses their engagement and runs around hiding by stealing a phone and becoming chummy with a perfect stranger. Needless to say I did not like this one.

Loved this even more the second time around! Still my favorite Sophie Kinsella book. Still obsessed with Poppy and Sam. 5/5 stars xxx <3

first read:

4.5 - such an great book!! The main character was hilarious and it was super fun to read her random and weird thoughts. I had to put this book down quite a few times because I was smiling so much at the exchanges between the two main characters. Which by the way were super adorable. I've read three Sophie Kinsella books this year and this is my favorite one by far. If you're interested in reading some Sophie Kinsella books, I'd definitely recommend starting with this one. :) xxxxxxx

A laugh out loud romantic comedy with a stubborn but quirky heroine.

I listened to the audiobook edition. The narrator was great and added to the story.

This book is definitely one of my top 10 romance novels (maybe even top 5). I've read it three times so far and I'm sure a fourth is along the way!

And believe me, it improves my mood every.single.time. It's such a romantic, heartfelt, and cute story with a lot of humor too!

Also, Poppy and Sam have chemistry for ages!

Just read it already!!!

ok, look. I liked this book, a lot actually. because the characters actually have depth, they have motives to act the way they do, and I feel like the author opens a lot of points to be closed later (like the parents of the main characters and their relationships), but somehow forgets to close them? when the book hits the 78% mark, everything starts to get rushed, and I feel like poppy even loses herself (I don’t get why she would go back to the guy who cheated on her and treated her like crap, just because sam did not answer her email? lame.).
I enjoyed the little “speak now” moment of the wedding, but we wait 400 pages for the couple to finally be together and it’s that little underwhelming scene of talking on the phone. i don’t know, I have it three stars just bc it starts out strong, but loses it at the end.

This was so cute! I was completely captivated by the storyline and the characters! Highly recommend
