The beginning of this book started out simple enough but then little things started to bug me and accumulate. The pacing of the romance and the story didn't feel right to me as well as the wording and the situations Westhaven and Anna found themselves in. I just couldn't get into the story because it didn't feel right to me. If you enjoy regency romance give it a try and let me know what you think.I do think the cover is gorgeous and the sensuality was incredibly steamy, just so you know.

I liked this book enough, but overwhelmingly I felt like the middle part was just too long and uninteresting. He's a little skeeyev at first, but I grew to like him and she is great and frustrating.
I really want a dual PoV to get in her head. Also #justiceformorgan

Also, so much dialogue about lemonade, but not in an endearing/interesting way.

The narrator is really excellent at male voices and general narration, but the female voice are cringey.

Oh, what a pair of dumb motherfuckers.

This book dragged on two chapters more than it should have because of romance-novel ~ misunderstandings ~ and ~ does he really love me ~. The main dude sexually harasses our heroine pretty much constantly throughout the novel, and then once her Secret Noble Heritage is revealed he stops because, I guess, it's only okay if your victim is working-class?

Did not like the fatphobia with the villainous characters. Did not like everything getting resolved with the least conflict possible. The domesticity was alright, but I can't help but think that Westhaven did not deserve all that sweet lemonade and marzipan.

An ok read, however the female lead made me really angry... she was self reliant to the point where she was almost a danger to her self. I did enjoy her character most the time but after the middle of the book I just couldn't wait for the end and for her to get over herself.

Pretty good installment in the historical romance genre. A few quibbles:
Spoiler the author has a bad habit of dropping in characters without any explanation, then acting like the reader should be familiar with them and their respective back stories. It's a bit confusing in historical romances, when people are going by their names and their titles. Also the last part of the book, when the author decided she needed to wrap up this "mystery" that had been hanging over the main characters' heads the entire time? Oof, that dragged. I'm also feeling generous today so I'm not deducting a full star like I normally do for one of my least-favorite tropes - the Suprise!Pregnancy.

Loved the book... except for the stupidity of the heroine. The girl only needed to share her big secret with the Earl and he could have solved it for her. Also didn’t care for the way their relationship was resolved in the end. I read these for the heas and would have appreciated a more romantic resolution.

I'm a bit disappointed in this one. I feel like it dragged and the misunderstanding bits were contrived. I will read the rest of the books until I grow bored, though.
