Laughed out loud several times throughout. Even recommended it to my sister before getting 3/4 through and that speaks for itself. Yes, Mara, I too believe in the tooth fairy.
I absolutely loved it! Mara is a great writer and I really could relate to her struggles about anxiety and depression. Her stories were genuine and funny .
Couldn't get through it. Every chapter is senseless whining! Can't take another second.
I knew some minor bits about Mara's life before going into this book. My best friend went to NYU for drama and so we were able to see Mara's one woman show about her life. I couldn't believe how strong she was for continuing the filming of Matilda after her mother died. Where Am I Now? was a great audiobook because it's narrated by the author. I love when author's read their own work it really makes it special.
If you have any interest in learning about how she got started as an actress and delving a little into her life then I highly recommend it. She's very open about her life in this book, it's not easy being vulnerable about who you are when you're sort of in the spotlight.

Because of her occasionally angry and sarcastic Twitter, I wasn't sure if I would love or hate Mara Wilson's memoir, but decided to give it a chance. I was surprised at how good a storyteller she is. Her stories are very ordinary coming of age stories, despite her background in movies. Despite the fact that about half her stories were ordinary high school ones (dealing with mean girls, first break-up) I felt like I was transported back into that world, where those small slights were more important than anything else.
Though she has less to say than Trevor Noah in his memoir, I think she stands in his league as far as storytelling goes. She's relatable and listening to her narration of the memoir felt like tuning in to the missive of a long-lost friend.

Interesting story of a beloved child actress. I was really excited to read this, and it was good, but maybe not quite what I expected.
I haven't really read an autobiography before, so this is a great start. I absolutely cried so much in this. It's incredibly personal and touching. I related to a lot. I'm not going to lie, I read this because Matilda meant so much to me growing up, both the book and the movie. Mara Wilson's portrayal of Matilda was absolutely the best. It's still something I go back to when I am feeling powerless. I can't describe it, but it's fantastic. I also heard the story about what Danny Devito did for her and her mother, an absolutely heartwarming tale, which makes me cry a lot every time. Her loss of her mother hits me in so many ways, but more right now.
I love how honest she was. I hate how she was treated in hollywood with all those weird sex things toward a child. It seems it hasn't changed much these days either. I can only wish it does sooner rather than later. I highly recommend this book. I think it's a great story told in such a beautiful way. From this, you can tell she's a storyteller, so who is better to tell the story of her life?
