That was the most intense and exciting horror I’ve read in a long time. This is what other “vampire” stories try to do, but fail. The idea of immortality, and what happens to the human psyche because of it. There is so much grief in here, and this book explores all the themes and avenues of death.

The characters feel so human, and they feel so real. It’s amazing how much you fall in love with them, even the villains.

Complex characters and a great portrayal of how relationships and emotions shape our perception of "reality" and how that can shift from moment to moment. One star off for a very slow start.

This book was recommended by a friend, and THANK GOD they recommended it! I loved how the story unfolded, and I loved Due's ability to build psychological suspense.

I though this would be closer to a "traditional" horror novel, but it ended up being closer to a psychological horror story- and I really enjoyed that! Looking forward to reading more by

I liked the concept of this book but Jessica, the lead female character, was irritating as hell. She should star in one of those horror movies where the girl makes every single stupid choice that's available to her. She's super-tight with her family but she ignores all of their misgivings about her husband, David? Even after David tells her his own story himself, and proves it's true in a horrific way, she still thinks this is okay? She's a journalist with otherwise good instincts but she buys all of David's lies without batting an eye? I'm not buying it, even if she is. Love is blind, but I don't think it's this blind for this long.
