I'm just happy they don't have ridiculously sized breasts. I'm probably going to end up reading the rest of the series and his other works.

This is an amazing romance... there none of the I hate you so I must be in love with you nonsense that I normally hate. This is however an amazing view into the BDSM scene. This never exploitive, though sometimes graphic. The romance feels very real. Oh and the smutty scenes are amazing, and always there for a reason. There is a lot of friendship in the story and everyday stuff, it's great.

Sunstone was just a shot of pure happiness to my heart. I loved the awkwardness both women had leading up to them finally meeting after months of communicating through chat rooms, video calls, and emails. They were both nerdy, lonely, and had so much yearning and eagerness to fulfill this fantasy that I could feel my heart racing, my cheeks heating, and my stomach fluttering with butterflies right along with these characters. This was the perfect balance of kink, sensuality, experimenting, humor, and cuteness. It left me feeling giddy and wanting to read more.
The artwork was stunning. It was sexy without being pornographic.
Overall rating 4 stars
I’m not sure how to rate the steam. There’s nudity and scenes of BDSM play and kissing but when all is said and done the “sex scenes” are fade to black.

This is by far the best depiction of BDSM relationships that I've experienced in any form of media. It handles sexuality in a mature and realistic way, without overdoing it or oversaturating it. It manages to remain earnest and genuine, never devolving into pure smut while still remaining titillatingly sexy. The characters are superbly written and feel extremely real, from their rampant over-analyzing thoughts to their anxieties and fears. Stjepan Šejić's writing is surprisingly good (this is my first exposure to his work). He has a way with words that feels casual and accessible, and yet poetic and alluring.

The same descriptors could apply to his incredible art. His line work is clean and expressive, his coloring is vivid and realistic, and his page layouts are clever and creative. But what really sells the series for me are the genuine body language and facial expressions.

This is a one-of-a-kind work of art, and I would highly recommend it to anyone even remotely interested in BDSM. Even if you are just curious and want a glimpse into an alternative lifestyle that isn't for you, this is a good primer.

this is probably the cutest comic I've ever read. I chortle when I imagine my coworkers putting these on hold for me

The story is great, but I was disappointed that the last 40 pages in a 130 page book were omake art. The art style isn't exactly my thing either, at least when reading on a screen. Overall quite good, though, and I suspect I'll pick up volume 2 at some point.

When one of my coworkers told me that he had a lesbian BDSM graphic novel that he thought I'd like, I will admit that I had my trepidations.

He was right, though. I did enjoy it. The characters are extremely well crafted and have a strong organic feel to them. They seem so much like real people that at time it was hard to forget that the framing narrative of Lisa writing their story is still just another work of fiction.
The art itself is fantastic with the characters displaying wide ranges of emotions. The attention to detail, both in the actual story and the "bonus pages" is wonderful to look at.
