The characters, the world, the heist -- all phenomenal. I could read a hundred books of the crows adventures.

Easily five (six) stars. Though, I considered being petty and put a 4 just because it ended on a cliffhanger but thankfully, I had picked up the Crooked Kingdom as well. Leigh make them canon, you amazing author 🫵

Well paced action adventure set in a well thought out world with interesting powers and even more interesting people. From the hard to read (lovable) a-hole that is Kaz Brekker tonl the sweet and adorable yet strong Wylan, these characters grip your heart and tense then relax your muscles with their witty jokes and dumb behavior.

I deeply enjoyed the experience of reading this book and the experience of being with the characters every step of the way to their goal. I found myself kicking my feet either from anger or glee over the actions the characters committed or the actions committed to the characters as they walked through the well built world of the grisha verse.

While not perfect I found it fun to read and suspend some of my issues and even easier to look and focus on the best parts of the book itself easily making it much more likable then some of the other books around.

If you are looking for a fun read with good and fun characters in a well built world this is perfect for you! However, if you are looking for a an amazing book that rivals other more renowned books of the genre then it may not be the best to pick up.

this book has made it on to one of my absolute favorites. granted, it was a little darker than the rest of leigh bardugo. still one of the best speaking of the best, its KAZ! the murdering, gang filled, rich, kind of a psycho teenager. his backstory was so sad, so was inej's. inej was one of my favorite characters just because she is a literal gymnast and she is kaz's crush i totally ship them. lets talk about jesper oh jesper, my man, my main man! amazing character except for that one thing, also he's a fabrickator like who would expect that! Nina my favorite thing about her is her love of sweets i can totally relate to that and her relationship with matthias is so cute i love them so much
the acual story <3 i love it so much i love a good heist. anyway definnatly read this

I definitely think these characters were more interesting that Shadow and Bone. Kaz's story is so heartbreaking and I can't wait to see what he does in the second book
