I really enjoyed "Me Before You" so this one has been on my to-read list for a while - especially because I saw an edition of it with the Tower Bridge on the cover. This book kept me riveted all the way through. It has quite a few twists and turns. I can honestly say that I didn't see the ending coming. Ellie's character came off as a bit wearying at first, but she's human. At some point probably many of us can relate to becoming distracted by self-created messes in our lives. But she does redeem herself in the end, which shows that she's grown as a person. An entertaining read!

I wanted to like this book but it wasn't my favorite. It seemed too drawn out and in the end, I finished it out of a sense of duty. I'd like Jojo Moyes writing style, but the characters just weren't my favorite this time around. This is the third book I've read of hers where there are two stories- a far past character and a modern-day character- that somehow tie together. It's getting a little tired.

I was intrigued by this story and its characters. Set in London in the 1960's, not that long ago, but worlds away from how we live today. This story makes me happy to have been born when I was, allowing me more choices then women of that time frame.

If you can't tell, I'm on a slight Jojo Moyes kick ... I decided to try to read as many of her books as possible before my brain completely turns into mush for the remainder of the school year. Moyes, again, does a lovely job of interweaving narratives - the past with the present - to bring her reader full circle. Since I've now read so many of her books in succession, the plot was a bit predictable to me, but still entirely engrossing. I especially enjoyed the way she told Jennifer Stirling's story from start to finish. Moyes does an admirable job of creating complex, strong, fascinating female leads throughout her novels - and Jennifer Stirling shines as one of her brightest examples.
