A satisfying conclusion and a bittersweet goodbye to these characters. This is by far my favorite duology to date. A new sub-genre for me where I truly loved the plot twists and thrilling anticipation - near chills at every other chapter. Rachel did an excellent job changing the POV. For readers who love multi-POV and 1st POV - you’re in luck because there’s both. This choice not only strengthened the plot but helped stay true to the first book. I was pleasantly surprised with Elm’s storyline and Rachel’s writing had me invested in as much as the main characters from the first book (which hasn’t happened since finishing the SJM universe). The end of this book left me sobbing. No further notes except I’ll be adding to my top recs.

The hype is real for this series friends. I am always a bit trepidatious when the second installment in a series goes from single POV to multiple, but I think it works very well here to allow our secondary characters time to move themselves and the plot forward. It's not exactly subtle in terms of this themes, but if you're looking for a well-done fantasy series that is satisfying but not over-complex, this is perfect.

This book was RELLY GOOD! I loved it and the tale it told, ADORED the Nightmare and I am quite happy with the ending :)
I liked it better than the first one. It had more action, more betrayal and shady stuff and we learned everything that was left unanswered from the first book, a wonderful closure.
I recommend it to fantasy lovers times 1000000!
It's an easy read and very light on the romance part.
