Lola at Last is officially up there in my top 3 favorite YA romances! It was funny, it was sweet, it was adventurous, and it was a breath of fresh air. I loved all of the characters (especially Ezra--new book boyfriend material!), the writing style (witty and sarcastic, with a beautiful reflection of hiking and nature), and the many, many lessons learned. I am just....astounded by how much I loved this book. Absolutely a breath of fresh air!

I love Pride and Prejudice so when I saw that this was a modern retelling of Lydia Bennet's life I was thrilled to read it. I love books where there the characters grow and change but it felt like there was so much talk on changing when I just would have liked her to say it once and show off her growth as a human being. Honestly, wasn't too concerned about this but it was a little detail that nagged me. An even bigger portion of the book that was just straight-up disappointing was the love interest. It looked like Lola met a guy who was all into her new hobbies so they must be perfect together right? He was so boring! And when he basically told her she wasn't worth the drama when she was trying... boy bye. That's just an unforgivable thing to tell a person. How could you trust them after that? More hiking and friendship hangouts, less romance, and this would have been a lot better.

I found the selfishness of Lola to be unbearable. Didn’t want to know about the rest of her story

Keeping this short and sweet today. I’d like to give my thanks to NetGalley and Harper Collins for this arc copy.

I really enjoyed this light young adult novel and it’s been a while since I read one. My emotions were surprisingly on high with this one and made me want to reflect a little bit and go outside and enjoy nature. I didn’t realize this was a retelling of Pride and Prejudice’s Lydia Bennet but I can kind of see it now. Lola Barnes was having such a hard time in this book and my heart went out to her even though she was kind of whiny and for lack of better terms bitchy.

I’d recommend picking this up for the summer!

( I listened to the audiobook of this so I will also be talking about to narrator's performance)
this book was perfect to pick up just before summer it really got me in the summer and camping mood. part of me does wish I saved this for a camp read because it made me want to go hiking and camping so much. The characters were loveable but had flaws just like all humans and they worked on them throughout the book. this book is a great book for people who are trying to find themselves. Sara Sheckells was the perfect Lola she was able the capture her emotion and personality perfectly through her narration
