We finally get to see the Fading Lands! As always, things don't go as planned. There's a lot of obstacles, mainly people making questionable decisions.

I don't know what to say in order not to be redundant. This series just keeps on getting better and better.

This book is all about Ellie getting used to her new found life. It has a mixture of Fey/human politics, still lots of magic and more revelations. I like how Ellie welcomed her new position in life. I like how the people who like/love her

I like how this book feels. You know when the lead character becomes oppressed and comes out the victor? It feels just like that! Ellie and Rain just has to go through lots of issues before they get their happily ever after. I like the conflicts too because it promises a good deal of retribution from the two main characters. I also like it that Ellie seems to have given the fey and the Tairen more hope for the future.

What I love best in this book are the TAIRENS. I love them and I LOVE STELI BEST. I am amazed with how they are and what the pack means to them. I love how they are with Rain and especially Ellie.

I can't wait to read about what Rain and Ellie will do with their new found um... well... freedom?

The first book was okay. Having got the first 2 at the same time, I decided to give the second a chance... about halfway through things pick up and the last half was so good I decided to purchase #3. I was so excited to finally see some advancement in the plot... Nope. This book was so boring that I literally don’t have any desire to continue on right now. I quit caring about most of the characters and you (the reader) know so much about the plans of the Mages that it’s infuriating how the Fae are just lolligagging in ignorance. In my opinion, the author just gives too much away without enlightening the main characters too. So basically you listen to all these “theories” that the Fae have on why the Tairen are dying, even though you’ve already read about what’s hurting them.... I still plan to finish the series because I’m not a quitter and love the beautiful magical world that Wilson has created, but I definitely need a break from this series for a little while. I also want Ellie to meet her real parents!

This book is the mid-point of the whole series. You learn a lot and all of it you know is going ot be useful for the last two books of the series. I wouldn’t say this book is only a set up for the rest but it is a change from what the first two books were.

It never really feels like it when you’re reding it though. As you’re reading, everything is important and happening in the moment. But at the end it comes crashing to you that you should’ve paid that much more attention.

I liked that we finally leave Celieria. Discovering the Fading Lands and having everything that’s been told to Elly actually happen is really nice and it happens at the right time in the story. Being separated from the twins was sad but meeting the Tairen is good.

Maliandra was a really cool part of the story for me and I was so interested in the mind of this child of the Eld who clearly has magic unlike what Maur seems to think. I was really excited to know what would happen with that.

I was really sad too that Elly’s future be so dark according to everyone and you feel really helpless when reading the book when the Massan decides to believe the worst of her. It’s like Celieria all over again except there’s no mage to blame, which makes it worse.

I loved the greater interaction with the Tairen in this book. They have a bigger part to play in this world and it was wonderful to see them in action.

Rain and Ellysetta's relationship deepened in this book which was great. We finally get to see them trust each other more and learn more about each other.

I liked learning about Ellysetta's real parents as well. I hope we keep seeing them so they meet up one day and they won't tragically die before they get the chance. That would just be baiting and I'd hate that.

One thing that did kind of ruin the reading experience for me was the sudden revelation of the twins powers. I felt it was so incredibly convenient, there was no hint of power before now. And suddenly the twins are almighty powerful and her mother had great power too? No way. I hated that. So unnecessary and out of the blue. If this was the point all along it should have been brought in earlier or foreshadowed better. Didn't like that at all.

But still, I'm enjoying my read through of this series. I expected Rain and Ellysetta's bond to be more established by now, it's taking its time. But I definitely want to see it through to the end now.

I want to see Ellysetta show the horrid council what she's worth and they were wron all along. She's already done so much for the Fae, bringing power and fertility back to the lands. I look forward to what she does next.
