“It’s about death, grief, regret, the things we need in life, and the things life needs from us. It’s about love with and without conditions. It’s about addiction and healing. But most of all, it’s about family. What it means to be one, what it means to have one, and what it means to lose one.”

Really liked this one, was surprised by the twists at the end. Glad I finally read the book—the deep red sprayed edges/special edition has been sitting on my shelf for too long. Loved the 90s/VHS movie shoutouts at the ending of my physical book. Would definitely recommend! Was an easy read that kept me wanting to keep on to get to know the family secret.

Meh, it wasn’t horrible by any means but I didn’t like it all that much. No real suspense or action until the very end and I thought it was quite predictable. I listened on audio and it was fine to binge while doing house work but I wouldn’t recommend otherwise. (Oh, and I really disliked the “noir” voice of Michael on audio, seemed very unnecessary)

seeing Colleen Hoover applaud the twists on the cover shoulda been a warning for me. was a fun enough ride but basic in so many ways.
