Absolutely perfect! The artwork is amazing, there's a gloomy 80's vibe, a fast-paced story, smart and funny characters. Can't wait to read the following volumes!

I just wanna read more. This plot is so confusing but also interesting, because the keep you in the dark with the characters.

I don't know. Maybe it's because I was 12 also in 1988. Maybe it's because this book invokes great memories of being 12 then. Maybe it's because this book took a turn I never saw coming. Maybe it's because I have no idea what to expect next. I don't know exactly why I thoroughly enjoyed this but I did.

This was okay, it didn’t blow me away but it’s not distasteful either, I just don’t prefer reading these kinds of stories. It’s got the same vibes as Stranger Things and I didn’t have the interest to finish that series, I doubt that I will with this also — but we’ll see.
Artwork is done beautifully and the colors used really give off that strange and eerie vibe.
If you’re a fan of Stranger Things, you’ll probably enjoy this one.

This was so interesting and fun! I got it from the library and I'm seriously hoping they have the second one next time I go in cause what an ending!!

There is an Amazon show based on this that just came out. I finished it and really enjoyed it for the most part (though it does take an episode or two to really get going). I knew that I definitely wanted to read the source material, so here we are. This volume seems to cover where the first episode of the show starts and ends; however, there is *a lot* that happens and is revealed in this volume that does NOT happen in the show (at least in the first season).
Overall, I really liked this volume. The art is so well-done, and I really liked the story, especially having seen the TV adaptation. I am curious to see how other aspects featured in the show will pop up in the GN, or if they ended up changing some things for the screen.
I will say, I'm not sure if I would've enjoyed this volume as much without having seen the show, because like I said, there is a lot that goes on with very little context, so having some knowledge of it actually helped.
But I will definitely keep reading it. Originally I was going to stop where the show ended, but I think I might just power through it depending on how the other volumes go. Overall, I would definitely recommend Paper Girls, especially if you like time travel or nostalgia!
