I absolutely loved this story! It was so cute and heartfelt. Morgan and Bennet had great chemistry that just jumped off the page. Who would have thought the guy you had a one night stand with would become your boss! Morgan and Bennet had different views on love and seeing them help each other change their views on love was wonderful. I would definitely recommend reading this book and any others by Claire Contreras!

I guess the characters were well written.. but with how much I didn't like the rest of the writing, I can't really tell. Writing had plot holes (like driving 2h, dropping her mother off, Morgan goes out of the facility runs into Bennett and already has a shitty hotel booked, but when you see the mother's character you know Morgan couldn't have taken her to the hotel), then the unnatural logic, character developments (Morgan going from never forgiving to 'oh we worked out our issues' like immediately; another goodie was Morgan's issues with Bennett lying.. he actually didn't, it's Ross and Rachel all over again, only this time just one party gives in to the psychotic unreasonable screaming - and you guessed it, Morgan again)

And this brings me to another point. How often do you abandon the book before you have to conclude it's just not good. I did it once per 0-3 chapters. But the biggest screaming of NOPE in my head was at chapter 50, but at that point book is basically over so I kinda had to power through.

I love the name Bennett Cruz. It sounds like he must be a sexy tall dark and handsome man and I can tell you with a resounding yes that he is just that.

The banter between him and Morgan Tucker is joyful. He calls her Cupid because of her hopes to match people with their forever love. She calls him Trouble, because he is.

The Trouble With Love is brother’s best friend and colleague romance. It’s light hearted and it works. There’s no huge drama, although there are ups and downs. A sweet quick and easy read.

I read this book in one sitting, it was a light easy romance read and I really loved both of the characters. This would be a perfect beach read. You could tell from the very beginning that Bennett and Morgan were soulmates, destined to be together. The chemistry between them was palpable. Both characters had been hurt by people in the past and had a hard time trusting anyone. They both thought love just wasn't in the cards for them. I loved seeing both characters fall hard for one another, but it was great to see who fell first. I am a sucker for office romance and this one did not disappoint. There were only a few things that were glossed over and I would have liked more explanation. I don't like being left with questions at the end of the book, but I doubt many people would see them as an issue, this is more a personal issue. The book was low drama and is a perfect read if you are looking for a feel good romance!

Cuteeeee

I love Claire’s writing in general, so I was super stoked to see this book come out to the world. I’ve been in a supppper book funk, but I read this whole thing in less than a day & am super glad I did. It’s the right amount of sweet / sad & I always love when characters who say they don’t believe in love fall in love.

Have you ever just finished a book and thought what the actual fuck? Well that’s how I’m feeling right now. I can barely even think of where to start on this book. I guess we’ll start with the beginning I kind of liked it. it was an intriguing storyline. I actually felt like this book should have been longer to flush out more of the details especially of the heroine’s childhood. The hero I liked. I super don’t understand how his ex-wife could have cheated on him but I liked him as a person even though he was a little jaded at the beginning on love(who wouldn’t be). The heroine I would have loved to have learned more about her childhood and kind of how she became who she was. The middle part the heroine started to irritate a little because we had all this teeny tiny bits of why she was the way she was but we never actually fully found out why she was the way she was. Then we get to the climax or ending and all I can say is what the actual fuck. I don’t understand why she gets so bent out of shape. Like let’s just think about this they hooked up two years ago the divorce was finalized a year and a half ago in my head knowing these numbers and dates I’d be like oh he wasn’t quite divorced yet and yet she flips her ever loving mind at finding out that he wasnt divorce yet. Then she drags it out with the I want him to want me but I don’t want him to want me mentality and really starting to irritate me like make up your damn mind. Then when she finally does decide to forgive him for not telling her that he technically cheated on his wife with her because technically they werent divorced yet it just jumps to Ok now we’re gonna move in together and get married. There is also very little said about the recovery of her mother and their relationship which I feel would have added a lot to the story. maybe a little bit of those therapy sessions that they went to. Honestly I think that it was a good idea but very poorly executed and there was just so much more she could’ve added to fill out some of the details that I as a reader feel like I needed to know. Like the throw in moments of you know she was raped but says she allowed herself to be raped at 14 and then it’s like never fucking mentioned again. Overall 2.5 2.7 star for me because I liked the idea but really just hated how it was executed. I like Jacob Morgan as a narrator also and I wish we had gotten more of the hero’s point of view as well.
