‘“I’m allergic to people.” “Relatable.”’

I went into this book expecting a murder mystery but was pleasantly surprised when I realised it’s actually a quirky romcom with true crime vibes, dark humour & a woman who is convinced the new temp is a serial killer.

At its heart this book is about finding someone who truly understands you & accepts you for who you are. About finding connection & family in the most unlikely places. And about finding your passion and building a better life for yourself so you can truly protect & care for those you love.

There’s a lot of tension & suspense as the mystery builds & those we have a dual PoV can we really trust them. Dolores is such an interesting character and the more we get to know her the more I loved her & the fierce way she loves.

Jake Ripper (yes, that’s really his name) is also such an interesting character with death looming over him, he is trying to figure out what to do with the time he has left & then he meets Dolores.
The way he truly sees her, the small details & then the…unique…way they begin their romance. Had me hooked, wanting to know if they can truly make things work or if it will all come crashing down as secrets are revealed.

This is such an original story & I truly didn’t know what to expect as I read but I was completely hooked because I loved the characters so much!

This was clever and unique premise. I love the idea of a temp killing propel at a big company.

I did see a lot of the plot twists coming but I liked how the story went and the ending was very clever.

If you like serial killer romances/ mysterys this is a great pick.

Thanks @netgalley for the arc

This one surprised me! I expected it to be much darker but enjoyed its direction regardless.

So, this ARC was a little different from my usual pick, but I had indeed a lot of fun reading it.

This is a workplace romance, about two people who don't quite fit in the company mould. They also suspect each other to be serial killers, and they are very interested in one another.

They have a good chemistry, their dark humour banter is top notch, and when they finally get to know each other, it actually turns very emotional.

This is a fade to black, low spice book, perfect for those readers who don't want to read sex on page but seek genuine connections.

I would like to thank Netgalley for choosing me for this advanced readers' copy. I received this for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. All opinions are my own.

Based on the title, I didn't know what to expect from this novel. I was surprised by the actual plot. Dolores dela Cruz believes the new temp employee, Jake Ripper, gives off killer vibes. She gets close to him and likes the dangerous feeling that he gives her. But, they both have a secret which is affecting their lives and their ability to commit to a relationship. It was funny at times, and also had moments that tugged at your emotions.
A cute romance with a killer game story.

I was bored about two chapters in. I almost DNF’d then, but I have been trying to stick out books at least 50 pages before I give up on them. But it was tough because I didn’t like either main character.

This has potential and I wish I had the patience to stick it out to see where it goes. There are quite a few reviews that talk about some really good twists, but also some reviews that match my feelings about it already, so I still couldn’t get interested in continuing.
