I feel like knowing from the start what is going to happen (first chapters are describing the story) has somehow decreased my interest in the book.
The story is indeed powerful and you find yourself lost in spiritual quotes, but I feel like this time the author went full Islamic, compared to other books I've read from her.
It was particularly hard for me to understand the terms and I needed to cross check some of the words with Wikipedia, because I couldn't understand the meaning from the context.
Unfortunately, I don't feel like this novel had a huge impact on me, compared with "Honour", for example, where I cried my eyes out.

Though the book was bit boring and not upto the point. I still felt the vibes the book was support to give. One star for the vibes, one for the few good lines which were astonishing and one star for the moral concept this book beholds. One negative star for poor narrative and one for unnecessarily implementation of rules anywhere without any reason.

My all-time favorite book. No book has ever touched me this deeply on an emotional level. It is more than a novel: it’s a spiritual experience.
The writing is simply stunning. The way Elif Shafak weaves together the modern-day story of Ella with the historical and spiritual journey of Rumi and Shams of Tabriz is both powerful and poetic.
I learned so much about Sufism and the mystical teachings of figures like Shams e Tabriz and Rumi. The lessons are timeless and deeply meaningful, teaching love, surrender, inner transformation, and divine connection.
This book will stay with me forever. It’s filled with beauty, wisdom, and emotional depth. I truly wish everyone would read it at least once in their life.
