One of the best new adult books I have ever read. I thought it was going to be a typical mommy-porn book and it did have some serious sex scenes in it but the quality of the story was unexpectedly delightful. I honestly wasn't sure which way the ending was going to go and I hardly ever say that about romance novels. Really well done and I can't wait to read more from Leah Raeder.

Leah is fantastic and amazing and I'm so glad she finally shared her writing with the world because it is every kind of beautiful! I won't be reviewing since I've beta-ed for Leah before, but I just want you all to pick this up now! I want to eat her words (apparently that is pretty common...)

Gritty and raw. Her writing is absolutely beautiful, it felt like strings of poetry all together. Looking forward to further releases. Just amazing.

it was unexpected in a good way, but i also kinda wish it had taken another route instead.

i'm not one for teacher-student affairs. so, that would account for the loss of 2 stars. the other half star I took because of the ending- predictable, trying too hard, and empty. you don't take me on an emotional rocket ride only to end it like that.

i expected more from raeder because the truth is the writing style is completely flawless and absolutely my type. i don't know about this book...

I was intrigued by the cover and the plot of the book. A modern forbidden romance? SIGN ME UP!
I am a huge fan of romantic comedies, they are my guilty pleasure. Whenever I feel a bit down, those are my go-to movies.
But with books it's different: I'm not a huge fan of romances in books, mainly because of the "insta-love" that I find ridiculous.
This was a nice surprise. It's a story of love, lust, attraction and sex. A LOT OF SEX.
Apparently,I didn't notice the "erotic" label... I've never read an erotic novel before and I wasn't completely comfortable with it: I just wasn't expecting it! And I felt it was sometimes unnecessary: ok, we get it. They are REALLY into each other!
Quickly summoning the plot, the novel is about a forbidden romance between a high school student and her teacher. And all I could think about were Erza and Aria from Pretty Little Liars. Obviously, this is A LOT more R-rated and frankly a lot more realistic than the relationship portrayed on PLL. This also influenced my imagination! Even though the character's appearances were different from Ezra and Aria, I kept imagining their faces!

I was not into the book until the second half, let me just point this out. But after the unnecessary sex and frankly the weird and unexplained thing with the druglord, I really enjoyed it!
It became more real, we got more into the story and we got to know the characters better. Because before the only thing we really knew about them was their sex lives.

Anyway, I liked it... Not sure if I'll check out more of Leah Raeder's books but still: if you are looking for an erotic romance that's not dull or stupid or badly written, this is for you!

Much better than I thought it would be. The sex scenes were very hot. There were some really good insights (mostly in the middle)- at first I thought it would be too simplistic.

For anybody who knows me, teacher student romance is a cliché that I just can't get enough of! So sue me, right?

I'm edging at about a 4.5 stars. The pacing was so wonderfully addictive I couldn't put the book down, but coupled with not just the main "romance" in the story, but the side characters, whose lives I desperately want to know more of.

I think my missing last half a star comes at the end - all of the side details wrapped up nicely but the main plot line left me just wanting something a little different - like when you order a delicious bowl of wedges and they don't come with salsa. Perfectly fine with the cheese and sour cream and sweet chili sauce but not breathtaking.

Overall, worth a read if this teacher/student genre works for you, and you don't mind a quantity of sex scenes that aren't so obscenely out of place you feel like you're reading a sexy romance.

Thank you Leah Raeder, I'm onto the next one now!

I was lucky enough to win a copy of Unteachable a few weeks ago, and was finally able to pick it up and read it over the past couple of night

Holy amazing read Batman!

While the premise of Unteachable is not a new one - teacher/student romance, there was just something about this one that really got to me.

While yes this is a taboo kind of subject, let me say up front, Maise is 18 and legally an adult, she has not fallen prey to Evan, there is attraction and seduction from both parties.

I loved how this was not all a fairy tale. Maise puts it so succinctly when she says it is "effed up". What they are doing, what they are feeling, their lives before they met each other, all effed up.

The relationship is complicated, the sexual chemistry between Maise and Evan is tangible, the emotions will get you right in the gut.

There was a darker undercurrent that was part of what drew them together, and although we all know that secrets are never good for a relationship, you could feel the weight lift off their shoulders as secrets are revealed.

I loved Ms Raeder's writing style. It was as if I was in the room with our lovlies, watching as their relationship unfolded before our eyes.

I will definitely be keeping this author on my must read list, and am looking forward to Black Iris when it is released

This book is heavy, gorgeous, beautiful.

I bought Unteachable a couple of months ago after seeing good reviews and knowing that it was a sexy romance (my fave new thing to read). I didn't know, though, that it would also be a beautiful story about first love, growing up, feeling like a kid forever, a bit of revenge, and so much more.

This book is hot, no doubt. Leah Raeder knows how to write a sex scene (and she doesn't have to use words like "mound" or "member", making them realistically hot as opposed to cringeworthy and icky). I was not let down by the steam factor this book had. That could've been enough, since it was all I was in for. A quick hot read.

I got so much more. The writing is blurry and fast and dizzying, much like falling in love. So, so good. I think this will stay with me for quite some time.

P.S. I have read a few reviews that pointed out another reason why this NA romance was so good - Evan, the love interest/teacher/sexy man, is unlike most other NA men. He is not possessive, jealous, or creepy stalky. I don't recall the use of the word "baby" (THANK YOU, RAEDER, FOR PROVING THIS CAN BE DONE) in the book (a big pet peeve, even with my beloved CoHo). And, again, the sex scenes (while occasionally repetitive, I get that his dick was hard and hot) had a realistic approach, with highs and lows and awkward moments and feelings that get in the way. It's awesome. I have been done with this book for several hours now and I just keep thinking of amazing things to say about it.
