What a fantastic piece of writing. I would give this book a five star rating, and I only give books that if they are simply extraordinary. I fell in love with both Remy, and Dexter. I couldn't put this book down. Worth reading many times.

“Some things don't last forever, but some things do. Like a good song, or a good book, or a good memory you can take out and unfold in your darkest times, pressing down on the corners and peering in close, hoping you still recognize the person you see there.”

This was my first Sarah Dessen book, and it wasn't what I was expecting. I felt kinda disappointed with this book. The name Sarah Dessen comes with such a hype, such adoration and apreciation, but I just dind't get any of those feelings from reading this book. The story itself was okay, it had an interesting premisse and I got curious. But it had such a slow pace, and some parts of this book just felt unnecessary even. As for the characters, I tolerated some, others not so much. Our main character was just soo gahh, no. I mean, I understand where all her actions and thoughts came from but for the most part she was just annoying; and most of the time, if I don't love the main character it's even harder to love the book. I read this months ago, when I finished it I just felt like mehh. A couple of months later I don't remember most of the story (bad sign) and I still feel mehh about this book. Anyway, 2.75*. However, I'm gonna keep trying to enter this whole world that is Sarah Dessen, until I find the right book of hers to love.

“I am coming to terms with the fact that loving someone requires a leap of faith, and that a soft landing is never guaranteed.”

.“You know, when it works, love is pretty amazing. It's not overrated. There's a reason for all those songs.”.

Such an adorable novel. Sarah Dessen writes books which make me nostalgic. I could just read her works again and again. This is one I’m reading for the first time as an adult, but I still get those warm, sweet teenager feelings each page of the novel. I mean, it’s not amongst my top favorites, but it’s still pretty great.

What I really loved about this book was its(did I forget to mention that this is my FAVOURITE sarahdessen book)
characters . Dessen has this amazing gift , she creates very likeable and relatable characters .
Both remy and dexter are relatable they both have their own flaws and that's what makes them so likeable. The book showed not only how dexter and remy relationship developed ,but also how she found that deep connection with her mom and even with her deceased dad through the song lullaby . If I haven't read the Arthur's name on the book cover I would have guess it was sarah dessen because She has this way of writing that is so natural it barley changes throughout her books ,sometimes it might get boring because of the plot simplicity but that was not the case with This lullaby .
In my humble opinion this is by far the best sarah dessen book.

I loved this so much! I think this is my favorite Sarah Dessen Book now... I just loved Remy and Dexter! They are such an unlikely couple, and I love that! I really connected to the characters, especially Remy. You really started to believe her philosophy and my heart broke whenever hers did
Like when stupid Don cheated on her mom with one of their friends... Idiot.

If this were a movie, I want Teresa Palmer as Remy and Robert Sheehan as Dexter... IT'S PERFECT!

This book was amazing, I love Sarah Dessen so much!

This was my least favorite Sarah Dessen book out of the one's I've read so far. Idk what it is but it just didn't click for me this time. I didn't really like Remy, the main character. It was still pretty good, though, don't get me wrong. It just wasn't as good as all of the (six, I think?) others that I've read this summer. Or maybe I'm just young adult contemporaried out. lol

I started reading Sarah’s books a few years ago and the first one was probably the best book I’d ever read. I finished one of her books and then did some research on which one to read next. And this book: the lullaby, was the most appreciated.

At first, I really liked it, Remy seamed like a badass girl and I adored her friends: Lissa, Chloe, and Jess. I enjoyed the first part of the book. She really didn’t care about anything and from my point of view, she was kinda stone cold. Not quite sure I liked Dexter, to begin with, but I too learned to like him.

But to my point. I like Sarah’s books a lot, mostly because they do not require a lot of thought. They’re nice to read and enjoy. But for me, this book was a little dull. There weren’t any tears or screaming or wanting to throw the book into a wall. It was a good book but I would not read it again.

Although I did love the parts about her family, especially since the ones with Dexter were super unclear I liked how she made fun of all her mom’s marriages.
