I was surprised by how much I loved this book which I ended up listening to on audiobook. I found the story deeply touching, the characters very realistic and the topic a very important one. Totally recommend reading it!

Hangat banget ceritanya. Kali pertama baca bukunya DS. Ternyata (katanya) gaya nulis dan temanya kebanyakan tentang keluarga ya?

People should truly read this book. Years ago you could not say bad things about the church and the old generation did not want to hear it either. But these things were going on. And it about time someone brought it to our attention.

Blue by Danielle Steel
Have read most of the authors works and enjoy the reads.
Starts out with Ginny Carter and her assignments are months long where she's located in Africa helping legal and children and woman rights.
The life helps her concentrate rather on others than herself. She arrives back in NYC after traveling for over 27 hours.
We go back in time and learn about Ginny and her husband. She was a TV reporter and he was an anchorman. Around the Christmas holidays they and their young son were in a car crash.
Her husband had been drinking and he was the one to drive home...the guys died. She ran away and became a social worker in far off places so she'd not have to deal with her guilt. She had let him drive them home...
She is ready to jump into the river and end all her pain once and for all but she sees somebody in her side vision and approaches the shed door.
She meets Blue Williams and he's utterly alone. She befriends him, feeds him, gives him her coat and puts him on the coach while she's in town, gets him back to school and a shelter to stay in while she's gone....
Becks her sister is not only dealing with her own family and teens but an ailing Alzheimer father that she's caring for and he doesn't even know who she is some days.
Their friendship grows as he runs from her but returns many times....amazing how she finds others to help her get justice.
I like this book because it brings forward how to start proceedings for child abuse while at a private religious school as we've had at least one in a nearby town.
It's amazing the adults are still being charged after so much time has gone by.
I received this book from National Library Service for my BARD (Braille Audio Reading Device).

Different.

I did not find this as compelling as other books by Danielle Steel, but then again, she has written over 90 which is quite an achievement. She also has a huge fan base and loyal readers.

The book revolves around two main characters Ginny and Blue, both of whom have suffered trauma and both of whom need someone to help them pick up the pieces of their lives. It turns out it is each other.

I won't give away any secrets but needless to say everything ends up resolved and there are no loose ends. I wonder if a few loose ends may have made a stronger impact? Anyway, a good holiday / weekend read when you want to simply relax.

This is the fifth Daniel Steele book I have read, I have enjoyed every one of them so far and this one was no exception. Blue Williams and Jimmy Carter I've brought together on the anniversary of her husband and sons death, she is currently standing by a railing frightening to take her own life. However she sees a flash of somebody running into a shed and decides to investigate. How life changes for ever when she meets blue. Blue is 13 and homeless, he's been abandoned by his family and lives on the streets. Jeannie reaches out to him and starts to gain his trust, however just as he is beginning to trust her he ends up revealing a shocking betrayal that he has been hiding. This book is a fantastic story I felt for the characters throughout the book and felt that it was handled very compassionately. An absolutely fantastic book, definitely a five star rating.
