Auntie Poldi and the Sicilian Lions is an entertaining, fun-filled book featuring eccentric characters and a wonderful backdrop, worldly location of Sicily. I think I just might have found myself a new cozy mystery series that I can get behind and enjoy. Poldi is great. Commissario Montana may have been the one with the title but it was Poldi that ran the show and called all of the shots. This is what I loved about her the best is that she was not afraid to speak her mind or act like a mentally, crazy person in public. In addition, to the fact that Poldi is very smart. It appears that Poldi will not be sitting anytime soon watching the sunset and waiting to die. She has cases to solve and a possible romance forming with Commissario Montana. I look forward to seeing the next grand adventure that Poldi finds herself in the middle of solving.
Fun romp in Sicily. Loved the main character although I hate that she is considered old at 60 (author, just wait!). Nice change of pace with the mixture of German and Italian.

Beautifully written, a book for everyone, especially for those who love to smile while reading... maybe even laugh... who dream of rural Italy in the sun, who enjoy nice descriptions, a splendid character like a Miss Marple with a hippie twist and... joie de vivre ;)
DNF.... just not my kind of writing. Slow and trying too hard.
Auntie Poldi has decided to retire to Sicily to drink her life away. If she’s going to go, might as well be in a beautiful place. But when her handyman is found dead on the beach, Poldi springs into action to find her proverbial joie de vivre. I loved this cozy mystery so much. Poldi is an INCREDIBLE character. So dynamic, sexy, complicated. Every chapter kept me wanting more and more. The translation is pretty smooth, though I do think some background on Sicily would help with this book. A lot of it is based on location. I’m already ordering the next book in the series!
