just wow

You know when you read a book and you feel the joy and heartache the characters go through? Yeah this book does that exactly. Such a sweet tale of love, I highly recommend this book. Honestly it made it to my top 2 favorites and just purchased the next in the series.

So I read the summary to this book and I was immediately intrigued. You don't hear often about a girl selling her virginity online, in fact the only time I ever heard of it was in an episode of Law & Order: SVU. Needless to say I wasn't sure what to expect. At Any Price was sexy, interesting, and kept me in my toes wanting to know what was going to happen next.

This love had cost me more than three quarters of a million dollars. It had cost me my heart. And there was no buying it back--at any price. It belonged to him. Forever.

Mia is a struggling college student, she is a gamer and blogs regularly. When she finally realizes that she won't be able to make ends meet she makes a huge decision. She posts a ‘Virgin Manifesto' on her blog and begins an auction for her virginity. Little does she know that her virginity will sell for $750,000. The young millionaire, CEO and founder of Mia's favorite game, Adam Drake is the winner. He is dark, sexy and beautiful. Mia may think she is getting paid for just the one night of passion, but Drake wants a whole lot more.

*The definition of Adam Drake*

I loved the characters and plot of At Any Price. The characters were unique and well developed. I adored Mia's character and I loved Adam's character, though I did see some of the twists coming it didn't take any shock on how Brenna had them play out. The romance is slow burn, and almost teasing. Its there and then it wasn't. I was swiping through my kindle at record speed waiting for the next Adam and Mia moment. I am disconent with the fact that there are two more books to Mia and Adam's story. I am content with the end to their story in this book, so I might not read on in the series. Overall, I really enjoyed At Any Price and will be looking out for more of Brenna Aubrey soon!

I rated this a little lower only due to predictability. I think I am incredibly intuitive but this happens a lot to me. I don't want to scare readers off because of this, I found this book very enjoyable. At times however, Mia drove me nuts. She was very immature and unable to cope with life as an adult. I couldn't understand her logic. This book is cute, funny, and very hip. It also has some incredibly steamy scenes.

I loved the idea of this story, but it fell flat for me. The characters seemed juvenile, and non-communication is one of my pet peeves. I kind of understand why the story was dragged out because that was Adam's plan, and if he had been honest about who he really was (which I figured out pretty early on), or had Mia actually stuck to her guns one of the times she told Adam just one more night, I'd probably have enjoyed the story more, but Mia seemed to have no backbone. And considering Mia wanted to spend time with Adam and get to know him, and that was part of Adam's plan, why would he keep his secrets for so long? I'd have preferred Adam to spill his secrets, tell Mia what he really wanted and had to story drag out after, rather than the other way around. I also think Mia's reaction was overly dramatic, and I'm really not sure how she didn't put 2 and 2 together before he told her. Beyond frustrating!

I wanted to give this book 5 stars because I loved the concept so, so much. I played mmorpgs back in the day. Was this book realistic? Nope. But it was fun.

The reason I didn’t give it 5 stars: I really didn’t like the FMC. She was both indecisive but also dug her heels in about the silliest things?

All us girl gamers wish Adams really existed, so that was fun. I’m not sure I’ll read the entire series.
