The start of this book is quite slow and hard to get into so it took me ages initally to get through the first 2 "mini-stories" as they weren't really holding my interest. However the rest of the book makes up for this and once I started Bree's story I picked up the pace, I wouldn't really know what author to liken him to, I was recommended this book after reading Extraordinary Means but I wouldn't say Adi Alsaid is anything like Robin Schneider. Worth a read but be patient...

Okay so it may be weird that I didn't finish this but rated it two stars. However this is not a bad book. Contemporaries tend to be hit or miss for me. They usually suck me in or just don't work at all for me. This book is one of those books for me.

I know that another reviewer has compared the writing in this book to John Green's and I would have to say I agree. Which is not a bad thing at all but his writing does not always work for me in certain aspects. The similarities Alisaid shares with Green are the ones that I dislike.

I would say give this book a try because you may enjoy it more than I did. I've just learned when there's so many books I want to read, there is no point in forcing myself to finish a book I don't care for.

I did enjoy this. It might not have been life changing but it was still really good. I loved all the little short stories with each character. I would love love love to go on a road trip like this and just meet new people and not care about what anyone thinks and just I could be anyone I wanted to be. I really liked this book.

This book was surprisingly good. I enjoy road trip adventure fiction, as I've often dreamed of hitting the road and riding off into the sunset. This book definitely let me live vicariously through our main character, Leila.

Leila is on a mission: to see the Northern Lights in Alaska. With each chapter, Leila encounters a new person while she's on the road. She plays a significant role in the lives of strangers through random acts of kindness and compassion.

Even though Leila's encounters with others are fleeting, Adi Alsaid's writing is rich enough to garner a solid connection with the reader at every turn.

This went straight to my "Teen Librarian Recommendations" display.

This was a cute, easy read, but it's a little too cute for my taste at times, in an unrealistic, picture-perfect, bubblegum pop kind of way. I found the ending to be pretty predictable and Leila's story was quite underwhelming.

Thank you to Netgalley and Harlequin Teen for allowing me access to this title.

In a way this is like a mix between Paper Towns and Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist. It's pretty random, yet still follows a storyline.

Likes: The way Leila blends into the lives of the people she meets along her journey. The idea that people you randomly meet can still be influenced by you in someway.

Dislikes: I don't really have anything I disliked. I do wish there was a bit more details to Hudson & Leila's story.

It took me some time to warm up to this book, but by the end I adored it. This book is quite the tale of so many different stories all connecting to one person, Leila. The ending was absolutely perfect, and the stories in this book were eye opening and moving. Overall this book was a great read, albeit slow at some points and hard to get into. I’ll definitely look into this authors other books!
