Parts of this book were really funny, and parts just ... weren't. There was a lot of name-dropping, or so it seemed. I could have done without an entire chapter dedicated to all the famous people she met while working on SNL. (Although, maybe that's unavoidable in the context of writing about her comedy career.)
The parts I loved most were about pregnancy, childbirth, and motherhood - maybe because that's the stage of life I'm in right now, but those really resonated with me. Her chapter about Haiti was also heartbreaking, and I wish she had written more about her experiences there.
Overall, I'd recommend this book, especially to young women and young mothers. There were some incredibly motivational stories about how to be a woman in modern society that I NEEDED to hear, including her motto that I have adopted as my own: "Good for you; not for me."

Interesting, but not great. The comedian is funny, but I think she ran out of coherent thoughts after a few chapters. The chapters are sporadic and most of them are her train of thought, and train does not stay on the tracks most of the time. There are few cringy moments of where she accuses men of racism because they can’t tell the difference between her and another white woman…I think the word she was looking for is misogynistic…or maybe she’s was not as big a deal as she thought she was at the time… Overall, weird, not a great memoir.

I loved this book, started if before the bar exam and finally got around to finishing it. It is so funny at times and I love how Poehler's style of writing is exactly how I pictured her in her regular life. She tells stories of being poor, her divorce, parks and rec, and SNL with such grace; while also dropping some knowledge for us younger folks on how to manage your career, family and keep your sanity.

Highly recommend the audiobook. With Amy Poehler narrating, it felt like a comedy special and I laughed out loud a couple times. There were fun stories and adventures, but nothing too deep and no earth-shattering revelations.
