This was a good finisher for the series. I enjoyed the story overall although the last book was more just tying up the loose ends of the plot. I found the story had lots of little, unique 'side quests' which made the world feel really developed. I think there were a few things that felt a little lackluster which is why I have given it a 4 but overall, an easy read and enjoyed the story!

3.5/5 ⭐ It feels like there should be a 4th book with all that is left unanswered. I liked the series, but it just didn't keep up the same energy as the first book. I know the author has mentioned the possibility of spin-offs, but with nothing confirmed, it feels a bit unfinished.
Mari and Griffin never really got together, after all the focus on them. What was all the stuff with the Queen of Rose, Aleksander, and the first born daughter of Kane and Arwen? Why even make that a plot point if it just is gonna sit there like that? What happens with Lumera and Hart and Sera?

This trilogy deserves way more hype than it’s getting. If you’re new to romantasy or just want a fantasy series that’s not gonna frazzle your brain with chaotic politics but still has a great plot and worldbuilding - this series is a must. I genuinely had so much fun reading these books.
Arwen our fmc had amazing character growth and felt so real and fleshed out. She wasn’t unrealistically strong and confident from the get go, but by the end she was such a bad ass.
Kane was the epitome of “I’ll burn the world down for you” this man was DEVOTED and possessive over his woman. He was willing to put her above anything and anyone, no matter what it cost him.
Even the side characters were amazing, like Mari and Griffin who had me so invested in their story any time they made an appearance. I’m itching to read a book about them.
I really hope Kate drops a spinoff series from this because the ending left so many potential future book options that I’d be dying to read!
