What a Colossal disappointment. I enjoyed The Firm so much, and had such high hopes for this sequel. But the minutia of the negotiating was simply not enjoyable. The ending was a complete letdown. I regret reading this.

The beginning of the book is slow and it doesn’t much involve the first which is disappointing. Abby and Mitch are much different from The Firm, Mitch isn’t showed as smart as he was in the firm. Then the action get on and it is hard to put down.

Really not sure what I thought of this. A slow start with a sub plot that seemed to go nowhere, and then the middle was pure/classic Grisham, which I loved. Not sure if it would have helped if I'd re-read The Firm, but I couldn't really relate to the McDeeres. It slowed up a little, but then I couldn't put it down and.. meh?

SpoilerSo was this about Mitch? Bendini? The former colleague who he stopped to visit with en route from Memphis to Nashville. What was "The Exchange"? which I was at one point thinking would be Abby or Mitch for Giovanna. The ending just seemed to fizzle with his departure and Giovanna's "Happily ever after"

Worth a read and not bad, but not as good as I'd hoped either.

Not as good as it should have been. Hugely disappointing as The Firm was very good and this is billed as the sequel... which it really isn't - it just has 3 of the same characters. Details about planes and food etc were yawn inducing and highly skippable. Very basic plot with no sub-plots at all, no twists, no character development, little to interest the reader familiar with Grisham.
Actually, it felt like Grisham was phoning it in.

Great book! Do not have to read The Firm to enjoy, the book itself gives you enough backgroud.
