I absolutely loved this conclusion to the Belladonna series. Don’t get me wrong, there was some things I would have done different (like expand on a certain point near the end), but I think the story as a whole was concluded nicely.
I loved how this book followed Blythe over Signa because I found Blythe to be a little more intriguing than Signa throughout the series. It was great to see how her relationships developed and continued to grow throughout and I just thought it was such a great end to the story as a whole.
I thought they plot and themes were something I’d seen before and weren’t super original but the way they were executed was great, and my personal enjoyment of the book and series as a whole is definitely up there as a 4-5 stars!
I’d recommend this to people who loved the ACOTAR series, and although there’s not really any ‘spice’ I feel like the story fits very well with the worlds Sarah J. Maas creates and I think any SJM fans would love this.

So this book had a slow start for me. Not bad, just slow. It picked up significantly around 30%
In addition to the slow start, I have two more criticisms for this book. The first is that while the FMC is 21 and married, this book is labeled Young Adult and includes one descriptive intimate or spicy scene nearly 70% into the story. I did not appreciate the surprise, open door scene. Therefore, this book, despite being labeled YA, is not suitable for YA and would be better classified as New Adult.
The second criticism is the inclusion of a prologue that ruined what could have been a great plot twist. I suggest reading the prologue after chapter 18 as a flashback chapter if you want to be properly surprised.
Despite those downsides, this book was a lot of fun. I loved the magic and whimsical nature of this series. The writing was beautiful, and the end wrapped up everything perfectly. A solid end to the trilogy.
Some tropes you might enjoy:
Forced marriage

I read Belladonna last year, and honestly, it was a nice, fast-paced, and predictable read — one of those books that’s enjoyable in the moment, but didn’t leave a big impact. One thing that threw me off in Belladonna was the chemistry between Signa and Death. It felt weird shipping them because of how he’d been around since she was a child, and while she’s a grown woman now, that age gap vibe was something I just couldn’t fully get past. If Death had only appeared once she was older, I probably would've shipped it more easily.
Now onto Foxglove and Wisteria. I couldn't care less about Signa and Death to be honest. Fate saved the book for me. He had that same chaotic, irresistible vibe as Jacks from Once Upon a Broken Heart — and if you know me, you know I fall for that type every time. His banter with Blythe was everything. The relationships, the teasing, the quick back-and-forths — that’s what kept me hooked.
Plot-wise, I predicted everything by the halfway point. It wasn’t a surprise-heavy story, and the writing was good but nothing groundbreaking. I’m someone who lives for beautiful, immersive writing, so while this wasn’t that, it was fast-paced and easy to sink into.
What really sealed it for me though was the third-act trope — an arranged marriage. Listen, I don’t read a lot of romance, but if you give me an arranged marriage with sizzling banter, I will devour it. And that’s exactly what happened here. It wasn’t the flawless storytelling or poetic writing that drew me in — it was the energy between the characters, the witty exchanges, and Fate being Fate.
The ending made me feel underwhelmed though — I expected more impact, but I cried once so that counts.
In short: Predictable? Yes. Best writing? No. But fun? Banter-filled? Arranged marriage trope goodness? Angst? Absolutely. And for that alone, I loved every bit of it.
