I'm finding it hard to put words to this review... I loved the overall story, I found it a little hard to relate to at times, but at others, the whole idea made sense.
I really enjoy how Ms. Cole was able to shed light in situations that are not easy to talk about or bring up in a manor that has a reader totally engrossed in the story and the lives of the characters.
I found this one a little slower to start (probably because I wasn't able to completely understand some of the issues at first), but once I hit the sweet spot that is in every book, I flew through the rest in one sitting.
Highly recommend the series as a whole.

I liked it, but it just felt like there was too much going on everytime something happened with the fmc something happened with the mom and he’d be more focused on the fmc especially the last part it was just hard to follow when it was happening at the same time multiple times.

Wow I was so surprised by this book. It took my heart and stomped all over it. It deals with an body illness and someone who can't leave his past behind him.
The Austin in this book is unlike the Austin in Rome's story. That Austin seemed normal and relaxed. This one was created to be a past gang member. Book 1 showed that at one point there was hints of him having a crush on Lexi. I think Tillie Cole meant to make this one book, but then wanted to tell friends' stories so continued on with more and added more to each character than what was built up so this created a new type of Austin based on what was already shown in the first one
When I was about 1/4 in I didn't like it as much as Sweet Home/Rome, but I was still enjoying this immensely because lets be honest here. This is Tillie Cole's books.
i like lexi and the fact that has a disorder that makes her seem imperfect regarding weight. gave a new type of character.
By the end of this book I was in peices. Although I didn't cry through it I sure felt like I wanted to. I LOVED the character of Austin. He was built up to be so tough but regarding Lexi, he turns to be the sweetest thing ever.

They meet in a most unusual way. The emotions coming of both of them could never be misunderstood, anger and fear.
As they continue to bump into each other, things change. Emotions are high but what once mattered feels different now.
Warning: Like the first two books, emotions are brought out through real hurt. Lexington suffers from a debilitating disease that rips her away from a healthy fulfilled life. It's a delicate situation.

Este libro trata de Austin un chico con ascendencia italiana y que formó parte de una pandilla y de venta de drogas y de Lexie, una chica que al igual que Austin están cursando su último año de universidad, pero que lleva luchando con la anorexia desde que tiene 16 años.
Por más que he intentado conectar con la forma de escribir de la autora no lo he logrado. Algunas de sus historias tienen potencial pero siento que no son aprovechadas, otra es que tiene muchos fans y no son objetivos.
Los libros en especial este tienen un mensaje bastante bueno, debido a ello no le doy menos calificación.

I hesitated to continue the series after sweet home that I did not like too much… but I love most of the books from this author and decided to give it a try, and I don’t regret it! While it’s not dark romance, there is a hint of it, with a bit of anguish, that I enjoyed.

Ho appena finito di leggere questo magnifico libro ed ho sentito la NECESSITA di scrivere una recensione. Perchè? Perchè mi ha fatto venire le lacrime agli occhi. E non è cosa facile. Io leggo, leggo tanto, forse troppo, leggo ogni secondo che ho a disposizione, non c'è giorno che io non legga, quindi di libri ne ho letti tanti.
Può captare che un libro mi faccia ridere, pensare e mi intristisca. Ma che mi faccia venire le lacrime agli occhi? No, quello succede di rado. In tutta onestà, posso pensare solo ad un altro libro che mi abbia fatto piangere, è stato più di 5 anni fa ed è stato il libro che mi ha dimostrato (e confermato) che AMO gli happy ending, che I finali tristi o dolce-amari, per quanto ben scritti, non sono fatti per me.
"Sweet fall" ha un finale felice (per fortuna) ma mi ha fatto piangere mentre lo leggevo ed anche solo per questo si merita tutte e 5 le stelle. È un libro che ti tocca l'anima, ti emoziona. È un libro che merita di essere letto.
Lo stile di Tillie Cole è fluido e di invita, incita, a continuare a leggere pagina dopo pagina. Ma soprattutto è realistico. Mi sono sentita così vicina a Lexi. Mentre affrontava il suo nemico, l'anoressia, volevo incitarla. Volevo gridarle: -Non ascoltare la voce Lexi! Non lasciarlo vincere!- Vederla lottare capitolo dopo capitolo, vederla iniziare a cedere e perdere mi ha spezzato il cuore. Io non ho mai sofferto di problemi alimentari, tanto meno di anoressia ma sono riuscita a capire Lexi.
Tutti sappiamo intellettualmente cos'è l' anoressia, ma credo che, a meno che non la si soffra o non la si abbia sofferta, non riusciamo a capire a fondo chi, invece, ha a che fare con questo problema. Eppure, leggendo questo libro, io ho sentito di poter comprendere e capire di più. Ho sentito di riuscire a capire, anche se forse in minima parte, la paura e la sofferenza di Lexi nonostante non fosse nè sia la mia.
Da questa recensione sembra che il libro meriti solo per la protagonista, che sia l'unico personaggio per cui questa storia merita di essere letta. Ma non è così, certo Lexi è quella che più di tutti mi è entrata nel cuore, che mi conquistato,ma anche Austin, il protagonista maschile, mi è piaciuto (anche se di meno). Ho sentito la sua frustrazione con la sua situazione familiare. Ho desiderato prendere a pugni il fratello maggiore per gran parte del libro ed abbracciare e scuotere quello minore. La situazione dei Carillo non è facile nè felice. La loro madre, Chiara, è gravemente malata e stanno cercando in tutti i modi di evitare l'inevitabile, o meglio, di aiutarla il più possibile. Potranno non farlo nel modo migliore o più legale possibile, posso non aver concordato con le loro scelte, ma credo che abbiano tutti cercati fare il loro possibile, il meglio di quello che CREDEVANO di poter fare.
Io questo libro l'ho letto in inglese e non so se c'è la sua traduzione in Italia, ma se c'è e non leggete l'inglese vi consiglio vivamente di leggerlo. Certo, forse la traduzione è stata fatta coi piedi ed ha rovinato il libro, purtroppo succede, ma succede anche che vengano fatte delle ottime traduzioni. Se fossi in voi gli darei una possibilità. Se volete iniziare a leggere in inglese o lo fate già allora vi consiglio VIVAMENTE di leggerlo (anche se avete letto 'Sweet home' e, come me, non vi è piaciuto particolarmente).

Don’t let the fact that Sweet Fall is a sports romance set on a college campus deceive you. This isn’t a New Adult romantic comedy – at all. It deals with some heavy subject matter, but it still manages to be… well… sweet.
Lexi and Austin are two college seniors who are each living inauthentic lives. To their friends, Lexi is the perky emo cheerleader, and Austin is the strong NFL-bound football player. In reality, they both wear masks to protect their insecurities, fears, and dark secrets. Their friendship gets off to a rocky start when they meet, but soon they recognize a kindred spirit with concealed pain. Safe from judgments, they begin to let their masks slip around each other.
The book is well written and quite thought provoking. Outward appearances can be so deceiving. How well do we really know what goes on inside someone’s life? I won’t delve into the secrets both characters are hiding, but Sweet Fall is very eye opening in its frank examination of stigmatized social issues. While the romance between Lexi and Austin is featured heavily, it’s the social issues and the importance of family that are the focal points of the story.
