I can’t believe this is the same author as nettle and bone - such very different books.

This was fun- a mystery, likeable characters, some romance and hijinks. I was entertained. Kinda wish nettle and bone had a bit more steam now that I know she can definitely write some spice.
I was more interested in the magical aspects like the killing of their saint rather than murder mystery though but I feel it might be going more towards the magic aspect considering what the murders were made out of
Marguerite, who is you?…

I adored this book. I will admit, it was slow to get going, but I wasn't even halfway in and the main character already had a hold on my heart. With vibrant characters, who feel like real people, and beautiful storytelling, Kingfisher has put together a story that's as witty and fun as it is heartwrenching and deeply personal.

If you liked A Wizard’s Guide to Defensive baking, you’ll probably enjoy this book. They had very similar tones, although Paladin’s Grace is very clearly aimed at adults.

Although it took me a bit to get into it, I found it to be an enjoyable romantic fantasy in the end.

Paladin’s Grace is T.Kingfisher’s beginning book in a fantasy romance series. This is not to be confused with romantasy. I love that genre, but that is not this! I’d say this verges on is an eerie fantasy that is distinctly T.Kingfisher with a romantic subplot. It was wonderful and had all of the hallmarks of any T. Kingfisher book I read: snarky humor/banter, lovable, dare I say sweet, characters and the dark fantastical aspects of her writing.I look forward to reading the next book in this series!
