Twisting plot, humorous, sharp dialogue and a deep storyline that reveals itself steadily as you progress. You don’t see a great deal of Zoe outside of the last 100 pages or so. Nicely set up for the future instalments though.

Down Cemetery Road is a slow burn of a read. The pace intensifies gradually until it becomes a good page turner. However, the main character, Sarah didn’t quite sit right with me. The various plot twists and reveals were interesting but left me wondering if a thirty something suffering from BHS (Bored Housewife Syndrome) would really be driven to follow up a lead as intensely as she did.
In the end, I’d much rather read another of the Slough House series than another in this series.

Better than most reads in this genre, I’m sure, but I found the plot unbelievable and I just didn’t care enough about the characters. I think this genre isn’t for me.

This book was a slog. Nearly all of the characters were insufferable, especially the main character. Her motivations made no sense. Her back story was vague and really just created confusion. Because this is a Mick Herron book, I assumed it was going to be some sort of spy thing, or at least espionage adjacent. At one point I thought "oh, no. That's not it at all. This is a book where we watch the main character's slow descent into madness." No, it was not that either. I don't even know what it was. I nearly chucked it but kept going because I liked Herron's Slow Horses so much. Eventually, at about the half way mark, the plot starts to pick up so at least finishing the book got a little easier, but it wasn't worth it. This had none of the dark humor or, dare I say, charm of the Slow Horses novels. Really disappointing.

An exciting page turner which is frighteningly believable. Very enjoyable!

A really well written conspiracy type thriller that had just the right mix of suspense, paranoia, and plot twists along with some truly memorable characters.

2/10 meh Sarah was TSTL really. I'm guessing she had brain damage from drugs. And do men really think that women who are SAH just clean and don't have any thoughts? Also I hate books where the MC is in a fog. It's stupid. Zoe is great but I won't read anymore of these.
