Made my heart ache, but undecided if that’s a good thing or not.

" He is the earth, and I am the moon. There was never enough I could do to get him to love me the way I wanted, to see me as more than just a moon.
I have never been enough, and he has always been too much"
Honestly when we are teenagers we all go dumb for our crushes but this dumb? I mean i did but this dumb????

This was an interesting experience while reading, because although I definitely cannot say I enjoyed my time, I recognized that the book was well-written.
The character of Sophie was so terribly annoying for me to read. I can understand what the author was doing with her and what role she played in the story and so on, but her entire character arc was about her becoming less obsessed with the other main character Peter, which was not fun to read about.
I could track the characters' development throughout the story. The pacing was excellent and the new friendships grew in believable timeframes with a perfect balance of keeping things interesting and not moving too fast. There was an excellent demonstration of "show not tell." And that's my biggest personal problem with the book—the writing and plotting and development was excellent, but the relationship between the main characters (on which the entire book is framed around) was so dramatic and frustrating and uninteresting for me to read. Think of a house with amazing structural integrity but the most eyesore-inducing dressing on the outside.
Things that I did like: Tabitha, Josh, and Luna were delightful to read about. The band was so fun. Peter's spiritual journey toward reconnecting with Judaism was great.
I honestly don't know if I recommend this book or not. Again, the writing is amazing, but the entire premise created such an annoying relationship—and I couldn't stand one half of the POV characters—that the wonderful storytelling was difficult to get through.
