I love this book. So funny all the predicaments she gets herself into. I read every single book in the series and all Sophie Kinsellas books since then but the first is still the best.

The main character was insufferable…and it doesn’t get much better by the end of the book.
Somehow I enjoyed the story because I know how good it feels when I do the shopping stuffs. But in the other hand I couldn't help myself not hating Rebecca Bloomwood. She's too self-absorbed and having very little responsiblity. I've never known if there's anyone who really ignore the bill like she did, skipped to coming to office, & went on to a telly program just like Rebecca. Life seems so easy for her though from my point of view she's daft, rude, and selfish. No, really, I really hate her, a lot. Therefore I only give it two stars :-|
I was way behind the crowd on this one, and just recently picked it up at a Little Library out of curiosity. It's amusing and a little suspenseful (just wondering how things will work out!), and of course, maybe just a tiny bit too relatable, haha. The romantic subplot left me a little unsatisfied, though . . . I wasn't too sure about our main character's judgment.
I’ve heard about this book for so many years and always had it in the back of my mind to read, but now that I have, it fell flat for me. Like, really flat. It’s so hard for me to write a bad review, especially with a book as popular as this. I’ll just leave it with, I could not relate at all to the main character and found myself more than once rolling my eyes as the storyline progressed but she did not. I wanted to stop reading, but kept going in the hopes it would turn a corner. And while our lead was able to pivot… a bit, I would have really liked more of that to unfold.

I had a horrible phase of reading nothing but british chick-lit.
It also resulted in a year's worth of journal entries that sound exactly like they were yanked from Bridget Jones' Diary.
shudder!

It's just meh to me. I couldn't relate to Becky at all because when I first read this I was 14, broke, and completely uninterested in shopping, (modern) fashion, and luxury/brand-name items. This may be biased of me, but I really can't understand the appeal of very high-end/luxury items. I get hotels and cars, but clothes and accessories? I get that it's important to invest in well-made clothing and accessories, but paying half a million or so for a small leather tote or a pair of pumps?
I also didn't (and still don't) like being financially indebted to someone who's not a close friend or family member. I found Becky very irresponsible and didn't find her funny at all. It's a wonder the LI fell for her...oh, wait. I just called him LI.
