If I could rate the first half of this book, I would have done 1.5 stars, and I would rate the 2nd half of the book about 3.5 stars. I like the main character, but she is very extreme - and it felt like there was just no plot for the first half of the book, I almost abandoned it. Then finally the last half or third of the book got much more interesting. I did feel there was too much foreshadowing. Overall, it's a fun, fast, light read.
Rebecca was hilarious! I cracked up laughing at all of her justifications. She was really fun though so if you're looking for light, easy, fun read. Shopaholic is your book!
I can't. Haven't picked this book up in months and every time I think about going to, I always talk myself out of it because I hate the main character so much. I don't think this is for me. I tried.
A very fun, quick read. I could sympathize with Rebecca's ploys to get out of debt, but sometimes it was just overkill. It seemed like things too easily feel into place for her and not only does she find the perfect "guy", but she also solves her money problems.
The book starts slow, too much time showing how Becky is completely stupid (she has the maturity of a 8 yrs old). Every time you think she´ll do something smart, she end up screwing it more. But then, finally, things get a little more interesting.
The shopping problem is kind of funny, the excuses and all... but gets old in the middle of the book.
ps: I have a problem with 3-stars lol

I really did not enjoy this book. I really didn’t like her ever, and not because she buys a lot, but because every lie is ridiculous.
This is my favorite book of the comedy/romance genre. This is a laugh out loud adventure. I LOVE this book more than I can say, Rebecca Bloomwood is ME! LoL
The first shocker was that the movie was nothing like the book. Absolutely nothing. But, weirdly, I liked the book and the movie equally because the essence in both stayed the same. A common enough problem faced by a majority of people (especially me) dealt in a very funny way. What's not to like?
(Oh, and by common, I mean the getting addicted to something part, not the being buried in a ton of debt aspect)
I loved the snarky humor and the heroine Becky was balanced on a very thin line between endearing and annoying, but managed never to cross over, giving a pleasant, bumbling feel to the book. The romance part was so out-of-the-world, that it was almost believable.
All in all, It was a nice pick-me-up, that got me through a stressful couple of days!
