Happy easy read. The drama is emotional but not heartbreaking, at no point did I start to worry the HEA would be broken. Family and friends that are in each mc’s life currently are freaking awesome (obviously Ash’s ex-fiancee isn’t, and her dad also sucked, which left a mark, but the people in her life NOW are good)

i was enjoying this book so so much until a bit after halfway, but then it just went meh for me.

banks i love youuu! also can we please get rebecca her own book? i want to read her finding love again, thank you very much.

btw, the insane overuse of italic text drove me CRAZY. seriously, i felt like i couldn’t find a single page where there wasn’t italic somewhere.

This book is fenomenal. So fun, entertaining, heartwarming. Is rapidly becoming on of my favorites series! So so good!

Maddox and Ashley have been friends for a while but that’s all. When he learns about the honeymoon saga, he decides to submit an application alongside a couple of his brothers.

Ah, Ashley and Maddox are going to be a difficult act to follow in this series! These two had the sort of connection that made you feel that they were always meant to be, if only they would get out of their own way. I loved that mix of friendly and flirty between the two, with genuine care and affection thrumming. I understood why there was some hesitation as far as crossing the line between platonic and romantic was concerned. After all, their friendship was something they both cherished immensely. Ashley and Maddox's story was sweet and steamy and everything good in between, and I enjoyed every single bit of it. Then there was Ashley's friendships with Rebecca and Sara--both of whom I hope will get their own HEAs, too!--and Maddox's family ties, all of which brought a smile to my face and enticed laughter from my lips. The standout among all supporting characters? BANKS. Such a scene-stealer that one! I know his book isn't the next one to be released, but suffice it to say that I can't wait to see who'll be giving him a run for his sparkly money. The bar's been set high by Maddox, though, with Fling getting five stars!

Fling by Adriana Locke follows Maddox and Ashley through this friend to lovers – pretend honeymoon. Adriana really paints an adorable picture with these two. I was swooning over the moon in love with how loving this couple was.
After dumping her fiancé Ashley has decided she still wants this honeymoon (I mean she did pay for it!). With all her friends not being able to fit it in she knows one person she can always rely on, Maddox.
Maddox and Ashley have been best friends since grade school, and you can tell they have chemistry from the start. They have such an easy seamless friendship it was so well written.
From beginning to end this storyline and character flow was perfect, the dialogue was intelligent, and the banter was witty.
I loved this book so much and can’t wait to see what’s next for the Carmichael men!

Ashley just walked away from an engagement to a guy she didn't really love and moved in with her best friend temporarily. Although the wedding wasn't going to happen, she decided to not let her honeymoon go to waste. Her friends, worried about her bad relationship choices, decided that if she was going to have a rebound trip, they were going to set her up.

Maddox has never taken a holiday, and when he found out the girl he's been crushing on since first grade was hosting a contest to find someone to bring on her honeymoon, he couldn't resist applying.

When he surprises her on the plane, they agree to have an amazing vacation in Nassau and let things flow naturally.

Gah. I love a sweet friends-to-lovers story and this one has jumped high on my list of favourites. Maddox's relationship with his siblings is amazing. I love the banter between him and his family. The chemistry between Maddox and Ashley was off the charts! The flirting relationship before they even go together was amazing.

I love Ashley's relationship with her mom and her friends. They played a large roll in Ashley's life and I loved all the interactions with them. There are a few times this story made me feel sad and emotional, and one scene in particular that hurt my soul a little bit. It was so beautifully written that I could feel the pain.

Definitely give this one a shot if you like friends to lovers and small town romance!

4.5 stars

Ashley has decided to go on her honeymoon, even though she called off the wedding. After all, she did pay an extortionate amount for the trip.

As neither of her besties can go with her, she lets them talk her into hosting a competition on social media for a male companion. They will choose the winner for her, and she won’t even know who it is until they’re at the airport.

The only problem is that deep down, she only wants one man to apply. One of her oldest friends, Maddox.

Ashley and Maddox were so great together. They had the same sense of humour, liked a lot of the same things, had similar views on just about everything…except relationships.

Maddox was convinced he’d only ever be a fling guy. That relationships would always sour things down the line and he’d become a different person. But Ashley had always wanted forever. The marriage, 2.5 kids, white picket fence. Which is why they’d both drawn a line in the sand between them early on. Neither of them ever seeing the other as anything but a very attractive, good friend that flirted a little.

But oohhhhh did they cross that line in the Bahamas! Of course fruit was involved because that’s Adriana Locke’s signature by this point #iykyk

Their chemistry was rife and everyone in their lives could see just how perfect of a match they were. But they had both avoided crossing the line for so long that they’d even been lying to themselves.

I loved how Maddox was just the ultimate gentleman under his flirtatious and false playboy persona. He was the total opposite of her douchebag ex. And screw that guy! Eton was the actual worst.

As usual, Locke has the big family dynamic nailed. The banter between siblings is hilarious and the pranks the guys play on each other are genius.
